7,975 words; about a 40 minute read
Mission:
Refit and Restock
Location: Romania
NoTeaya woke for the second time today. "Mmm" she hummed softly. Rolling over, Dean was gone. After she stretched, Teaya slid out of bed put on her robe and walked into the living. Not seeing him there or the kitchen. "Hmm, maybe he had things to do." Putting on a kettle of water she set about making some tea. Carrying her tea back to the bedroom she dressed in a pair of leggings, a slightly oversized shirt and fuzzy socks.
Perhaps he did. Actually Dean did, he went to check in at Starfleet headquarters, but he also had plans to go ask Boothby if he could have some fresh flowers. So he could take them back to Teaya before she woke up, or hopefully before she woke up.
Nestled on the love seat in the bedroom... PADD in one hand and her tea in the other, scrolling through to see the evals she needed to do yet. Pleased it wasn't that many left and she should be able to get them done before they were due with ease.
Didn’t take to long, maybe an hour, at least from when she woke up. The door opened and he was quiet about it just in case she was still asleep. Getting a vase to put the flower in and set them on the island.
"Dean?" Calling out cautiously. Setting down the PADD Teaya got up walking into the living room turning to the kitchen seeing arranging the flowers. "They're lovely."
“I thought maybe you’d still be asleep, I guess not.” He smiled to her lightly and moved over to kiss her softly. “Got them from Boothby.”
Returning his tender kiss. "They're just lovely, thank you honey." Setting her cup on the kitchen bar, Teaya snaked both arms around Dean's waist.
"Can I get you something to eat or have you already eaten? Halloween is coming up, I thought maybe we could do something… maybe a party?"
Dean leaned into her a little bit, the smile widening a bit. “I got two bagels on the way, but thank you.” Giving a thoughtful look a moment, “I guess we could do something. What did you have in mind?”
"How would you feel about us using your castle? If you're not comfortable with that we could rent a place. I know a fantastic caterer." Teaya looked at him wistfully enjoying the warmth of the heat radiating off his body.
“Are you sure that they could handle the castle? You haven’t even seen it. Its not exactly normal.” Resting his head against hers a moment, because he could.
Oh he smelled good. Being in this close of proximity to him was hard to think. "You're right I haven't. Maybe we could go today and look things over and if not suitable then we can rent a place. What do you think?"
“That was kind of what I was thinking, actually.” Lifting his head back to look to her, “We are still on leave after all, we can go where we want as long as its on Earth.”
"Perfect." Teaya extricated herself from him. "I will change into more suitable clothing. Give me 10 minutes and I'll be ready." Taking a step towards the hall she turned back giving him a chaste kiss to his cheek. "Thank you again for the beautiful flowers."
“I will be right here, or I should be.” Dean moved to take the flowers out, he forgot to cut the stems at an angle. After doing so, then put them back in the water.
Hair freshly brushed and braided to one side, black jeans, a paisley print shirt, matching scarf and ankle boots with a slight wedge heel, she was ready. Teaya slung her small cross body pack on and went back to the living room. "I'm ready, shall we go? Oh wait bagels…"
He was in uniform, so not really any need for him to change. “Now you want bagels?”
With a sheepish grin and slight shrug. "We can grab something on the way. I'm excited to see this castle of yours."
“I already had bagels remember, but we can get you something if you want.” Moving over to the panel and setting the coordinates not for the castle, but the village a few miles out.
"That's fine. I'm ready" said with a but more excitement than probably necessary.
Dean tapped on the console a moment more and they were transported to the village square. It was certainly rustic. Something she may have seen in holos, or read. Its closer to 18th century with a modern twist to it. A couple people may have recognised him, but if they did, they didn’t really do more than just nod. Not because they didn’t like Dean, they just had things to do.
Teaya let out a small gasp. She blinked a couple of times and looked around in wonderment. "Oh Dean." She was in awe. It was absolutely perfect.
“What?” Raising an eyebrow a moment, just in her exclamation and her reaction.
She could smell fresh bread. Looking around more closely she spied the bakery. "Let's see what's at the bakery. I bet they have meat pies along with sweets."
“That was the point since I already ate and when I mentioned bagels, you liked that idea. Though this way you can get fresh homemade stuff.”
Teaya slid her hand into his as they walked to the bakery. "It smells heavenly." As they entered the smells of fresh bread, the savory meat pies and various sweet breads filled their senses. Teaya ordered a venison meat pie and an apple fried pie.
"Where to next?" After the exited the bakery.
Dean gave a little wave to the man behind the counter and moved from Teaya to kiss the older woman working the dough on the cheek. They said something back and forth in Romanian. Coming back to join her. Turning Teaya around a little and pointed over at the horizon to the mountains. The castle was so big it could be seen even from there. “Maybe there?”
Teaya's mouth dropped open a moment then she closed it quickly. Looking at him. "Are you serious? Wow, just wow!" She ate half of her meat pie and had tucked the apple pie for later. "Do you want the rest?" Offering him her pie. "I take they are friends of yours?"
There was a large smile given at her reaction and she wasn’t even close to the castle. “Sure,” taking the rest of the pie to eat. They could walk, they could get a transport, or actually use a shuttle to get there. “Mrs. Karvania? Yes, family friends, Chloe’s side. You know there is a lot of controversy over the castle. There’s one said to be Vald’s real one. Nother in history for a book that was picked. This one supposedly is the real one and the stories true. When Vlad Tempes was turned into a vampire. That Chloe was a descendant and it was passed down. I don’t know for sure but the architecture is certainly….um...well...not normal.”
Teaya sized up the castle from their standpoint and how massive she imagined it would be up close. "Shall we go? Walk or ride?"
“That was the general idea, darling, and that’s up to you. However, you do like nature so you might like a ride on horses through the country side up there. Though we’ll have to leave them at the base of the mountain path.”
She smiled brightly. "I would love nothing more than to go by horse. I'm okay with that."
“Grimhelda keeps me two still all these years, besides she loves the ornery things anyway.” Taking her hand and leading her over to a set of stables. “Hmm…” looking around. “She must be out with some of the other mustangs. I can just leave her a note.”
Dean left the note and saddled up the horses for them then gave Teaya a leg up. Once he was mounted he led them toward the castle. They had ridden a while. Teaya in awe of the beauty around them. The closer they got to the castle the more massive it looked. "Do you keep it fully staffed even when you're not here?" The size of the castle was far more than impressive.
Dean wasn’t even close to as much awe as she was, as he’d been there many times before. Obviously. He did enjoy the ride though. “Do the evil demon Ubnasts count?”
Giving a slight shudder. "Um… I don't think so and are you serious? I have read about them, surely they aren't real."
There was an eyebrow raised, “I don’t know….are they?” Smirking a little bit. “You know along with the vampires, all the ghosts. Floating heads…”
"Dean!" She shook her head and looked towards the castle then back to him. "After this week, that's not quite funny."
Dean just started to chortle, near uncontrollably, finally stopping enough to get a word in, “What if it is and isn’t? I mean have you looked at the place?”
"I see what's before us. It's kind of creepy looking. I take the inside is not as grotesque as the outside. Don't get me wrong, I love architecture and while that is fascinating it doesn't exactly scream welcome to my home." A slight chuckle as they finally reached the base of the mountain.
“Really? You think the outside and how dis-conjointed and how there should be absolutely no way that should be standing it looks isn’t just..” Motions a hand out. “Well there you go.”
"It's different, that's for sure." Teaya slid down off her horse. After tethering her horse she took a bottle of water out of her pack. After she took a drink she offered it to Dean.
“I think its and has been magnificent. You hadn’t seen inside yet.” Declining the water. Hopping off the horse, but not tethering it off. Undoing hers. Giving both a slap on the rear. Watching them take off. “They know how to get back.”
"And how are we getting back?" Teaya tucked the bottle back into her pack.
“The trans morphological accelerator engine?” Dean gave a bit of a shrug. Starting up the steps to the long bridge.
Teaya followed looking at everything around them and committing as much as she could to memory. Nothing felt off about the place so she relaxed a bit continuing the walk .
As far as she knew there was nothing off, or she didn’t feel. That could to be seen. That bridge was at least a half mile long before they even got up the stairs to the main doors. Which were massive. They were at least 50 feet tall. There was no electronic locks on it. He had to use a key before shoving them open. The sound of such could curtle your blood. Bats, yes, bats came barreling out from the main hall and out the doors around them.
Teaya stood back looking at the doors as Dean shoved them open then ducked. "What the hell!" She exclaimed as she ducked. "Are you serious?" She was beginning to have misgivings about his sanity and what the hell he was dragging her in to. "Apparently I have laid blind faith in the wrong place and time at the moment."
The bats mostly just wanted out to go around at their leisure. One did stop and come back to him and purch on his shoulder. Which Dean reached up and offered his hand. The bat crawled down to it and then was brought up to his chest. Nuzzling under his chin. “This is Shelly. I think she just wants to stay with me because she was Chloe’s.” He did not keep bringing Chloe up to make anyone jealous, or just to keep bringing her up. It was nothing but simple explanation. “And what is wrong with this? It could be worse, and could be worse with someone you are with. Take Shelly, go inside and give a look for yourself.” IF Teaya did, once she stepped one foot in, the entire hall would light up, one ‘torch’ at a time.
Teaya glanced at him then slowly reached out for Shelly. Crawling into Teaya's hand, she just looked at her moment then back to Dean. Shelly stayed perched on Teaya's hand as she slowly walked to the door. One step in and it began lighting up. She stepped further in. Once the great hall was fully lit she was in complete awe. She walked to the center. With Dean not far from her. She was in complete disbelief. "It's beautiful" she whispered.
“Its suppose to be, and again, so is the outside. I still don’t know who designed this and I was never told. This is the first time I’ve been in here in years. Shelly likes you.”
Teaya had just realized Shelly had left her hand and was clinging to the strap of her day pack the hung across her chest. "So it seems." Teaya was so mesmerized by the hall she didn't know the bat left her hand.
"Show me around please"
“What do you want to see?”
"Everything" said brightly.
“I guess you can see the laboratory first.”
"Lead the way love" she slid her hand into his. She loved the warm comfort of his touch.
Shelly still clinging to the strap of her pack they began walking towards the lab. Through a small maze of hallways it emptied to 2 large mahogany carved doors. Teaya reached out and delicately ran her finger over the ornately carved doors. "Beautiful" she whispered. When Dean opened the doors she was quite surprised by how lit up the room was. Beakers, test tubes, burners… you name it it was there. The shelves lined with jars and small boxes filled with herbs and who knows what else.
“Well there is that,” smiling to her lightly a moment. “Experiments and stuff.”
"Show me the dining hall and a sitting room where we could host a party. Also, do you have extra bedrooms in case some guest may want to stay?"
There was an eyebrow raised a little bit at the question, the answer should be obvious with out him having to say it. As for the first part, that he could lead her to. Part of the place were cold, some less lit, like the hallways and adjoining corridors. The lower levels were completely off limits, period. “This way my dear.” Leading her to the dining hall first. Which was pretty massive.
"Oh Dean, this is perfect."
“I figured this might work.”
"Dean do you think it would be to much for Mrs Karvania to bake a few dozen of her lovely cookies and cupcakes for the party?
Dean gave a little shrug, “I’m sure she’d be happy to do so. Just make up a list and I will send it her way.”
Teaya smiled at him. She began making a mental list of the cookies and cupcakes flavors. Her baked goods were spectacular and having a few of each would be perfect. But first they would need to clear with Mardel. "What's next? Spend some time in the village or head back to my apartment? We will need to clear this with Mardel."
“We could go and see the bladesmith. He’s a master, you could draw up a design and we could do it with him. However, its going to get hot and will take days to finish.” Giving a thought, “That with Mardel, I don’t see why we have to clear it. She just needs to be told is all.”
“I would love to have a new blade. But we don't have but a couple of days and we need to make sure everything is set up for the party in case Mardel is game and invites need to be sent." She ignored his Mardel being told, comment. She would contact Mardel on her own. Men… she mentally shook it off.
“Well he can do it and just let me know when its done. I just thought something fun to do together. Making a new weapon, even if its just for show, or not. Blood, sweat and tears. We can still just go and you can show him the design.”
"I would like that. Now one little issue"
Deans head tilted a little bit, “What’s that, Teaya?”
She pointed to her chest. Shelly was still clinging to her pack strap.
“What about her, baby? She likes you.”
"I like her as well but we can't exactly take her with us. She lives here."
He reached and scritched behind Shelly’s ear a moment, “Its not like we’re leaving, we’re just going back to town. She can fly back any time she wants to.”
Teaya gave him a shrug. "Okay, let's go then there's a bit to do and we need a fun day to ourselves."
“Well lets go then? Also are you sure you don’t want to make that call to Mardel first before we do.” Nope, still not telepathic, but he wasn’t naive either.
Tossing him a sassy look, "I will call her when we get home." Hmm home with Dean. Sharing a home appealed to her. Once back on the ship it will be back to work and separate quarters. Why did her mind even go there? Oh yeah, reality crashing back in all to soon. Pushing it to the back of her mind she smiled at him. "Let's go make a knife."
“Already fixed that.” Dean smiled and slipped his hand down her arm to hers. Interlacing their fingers, “Changed your quarter assignment.” Grinning a bit, “And its called a dagger, there is a difference.”
Her green eyes got big. "When did you do that? And yes, I know the difference."
Her hand, their hands were lifted for him to kiss the back of hers, “I have had time, also I am the XO, quarter assignments go through me for approval.”
Smiling and shaking her head. "Let's go make a dagger baby."
It’d take just as long as it did before to get back down to the path, but this time, the horses were gone. They did just as he said they would, went back to the stables. Thus, they would have a long walk to get back to town.
Teaya and Dean talked quite a bit but there were also periods of comfortable silence as they walked hand in hand back to town. As they reached the edge of town, Shelly took flight back to the castle. "Well that is kind of sad but just as well I suppose." They watched a moment then headed to the blacksmith shop.
Dean smirked a bit, “Ohhh..so you like Shelly now, huh?” Moving to open the door for her, which wasn’t always closed but Veldath didn’t have much going on today. “Veld? You here?”
Veldath caught Dean from behind in a bit bear hug. He was two feet taller than Dean was. Big man. “So now vew decide to come back after being on your space ship. Who is the beautiful girl, tell me you didn’t kidnap her. I vill have to cut you down and make her my vife.”
Dean slapped at the arms, “Oh let me down you old coot.”
Teaya giggled and blushed. She held out her hand. "I'm Teayana, nice to meet you."
Veld gave a bow to her and took and kissed her hand. He was burly as well, imagine kind of like a Hadgrid or similar, just with a Romanian accent. “As vell you, dear. Vhere did you find this wagrant?”
Teaya decided right away she like him. "Fortunately, this … em.. vagrant and I work together" said with a small laugh and a wink to Dean.
“Vorking together, come now, dear. I can tell better than that. One does not get to being 191 years old being blind to such things.” He was that old, and he was human of all things, but only looked 121.
Teaya looked to Dean as a plea to back her up. "It's where we met. I'm Lt. Teayana Shadow Starr of USF and I serve on the Aldrin with this lucky man." It was she who felt lucky but she didn't have to tell him that.
Dean wasn’t getting in on this. He had her back, but with this, nooooo. She had to deal with him on her own, just like he’d have to eventually deal with Teaya’s family on his own. They were family, even if it wasn’t by blood.
Veld smiled lightly to her and then had a gutteral laugh added to it. “Vell I am sure you can straighten him out. Anyone vould be lucky to have a woman like you. I assume this is not a social call, so vhat can I do for you?”
"Thank you." Blushed a little more. "He's a little rough around the edges but he should shake out just fine." Said with a laugh. "Dean tells me you have the finest metals to make blades with."
“That I do, bobbit. That I do. Just about any kind you know of in the universe and some you don’t know about.”
Teaya pulled a small tablet out of her pack. She began scrawling her finger across the surface. When she finished she showed him the image.
"Will it be possible to add this to the blade of the dagger without compromising it's tensile? And oh.." pausing she dug further into her pack and pulled out a small, smooth oval blood stone.
"I'd like to add this as well." She looked to Dean then back to Veld. "My grandfather gave this to my grandmother when they met. He said she stole his heart and would give his blood for her. It was his proposal to her."
Dean had moved off actually to look at the wares. Just grabbing a piece of paper and pencil, working on something.
Veld took the PADD and gave it a look over, “I vill make sure that this is done perfectly for you. Once I check if those are able to be put in, then I vill make this for you. Free of charge for my friends bride to be.”
Deans head shot up at that and gave a whaaaaa? Face.
Teaya blinked twice. "Oh no, we aren't… um no, we just started seeing each other." She blushed deeply.
“I am wery cleaver man. I see and know things.” Veld waving his finger at her and then at Dean. “You vill have to much more to top this gesture from her grandfather. Much more, little man.”
Dean sighed and shook his head, not even going to bother to make a comment to argue with Veld.
Teaya was dumbfounded and the expression of her face made it quite evident. "Dean?"
“Yes, baby?” Looking to her, while Veld moved to start looking at what he was going to do with the order.
Teaya walked over to him. Spoke softly.. "what is he going on about?"
Dean gave a shrug, “Hell if I know. He always gets on with rants like that.”
"Oh" was all she said. He knew his friend far better than she obviously. "What now? If you don't have anything else planned I saw a lovely antique shop." Her eyes sparkled their brilliant green in anticipation.
There was a shake to his head, “Except, if you will let me, I’d like to finish this drawing and specifications first to give to him. Shouldn’t take but ten minutes maybe.”
"Don't rush." Teaya turned and walked over to some blades Veld had already made. Reaching out she ran her fingers up the length of each blade caressing each and enjoying the feel of the metals on her finger tips.
It still didn’t take that long for him to finish and give it to Veld and rejoin Teaya. Kissing her softly then motioning to the door. “All yours.”
They walked back up the road toward the antique shop. The little bell tinkled as they entered. It was dimly lit but only took a moment for eyes to adjust. An older woman came out from the back welcoming them.
"Can I help you?"
"We are just browsing right now thank you"
"Alright dears let me know if you need any assistance." She disappeared behind her heavy red velvet drape that divided the front fem the back.
"She has some lovely items." Teaya spoke softly as she walked around looking.
“She usually does actually.” Dean wasn’t really looking looking like Teaya was, just following her.
Teaya picked up a lovely delicate platinum necklace. Small hearts adorned with emeralds. She carefully held it in her hand as she continued browsing. She looked across the room and saw a beautiful cream colored antique lace dress. It was a little more than knee length with a babydoll neckline and short sleeves. It would be perfect for the party. She moved to it and looked at the size. It would fit.
Hold it up to her she turned to Dean. "What do you think… for the party. To much?"
Dean moved over to look at the dress a moment. Actually taking it in, “Um..I guess that depends on what you are wanting to dress up as.”
"Hmm… I had not planned on dressing up as anything really. I just thought it was pretty and looked comfortable." She gave a slight shrug then hung it back on the hook. And walked away from it. "I think this necklace is all I will buy."
“Well it is halloween right?”
She gave a non-committal shrug. And took the necklace to the counter to pay.
“I thought you were getting the dress?”
Teaya looked at the dress from where she stood. "It really is a beautiful dress." Teaya chewed her bottom lip in thought for a moment.
"Okay, you twisted my arm." She smiled at Dean then walked back across the room to retrieve the dress.
Dean just stayed there and watched her, “Oh..I twisted your arm huh?”
Giving him a quick kiss when she returned. "Yes, a painful twist"said playfully. Teaya laid her purchases on the counter and rang the small bell waiting for the shop owner to reappear.
This was a young woman that showed up, someone Dean hadn’t met before. Giving them both a polite smile and ringing the items up, “Is there anything else I can help you with?”
Teaya gave a polite smile "no thank you this is all." The young woman carefully wrapped the dress and out the delicate necklace in a box.
"Thank you" Teaya said sweetly as she picked up her items from the counter.
“You’re welcome, have a nice day.” Giving both of them a look over.
Dean nodded a little and smiled, then moved to follow Teaya out.
"What did you have Veld make for you, you didn't say or show me." She slid her hand into his as they walked.
He squeezed her hand lightly, “An orante sword. Little more technical and less traditional than your dagger.”
Playfully rolled her eyes at him. "I can't wait to see it." Teaya stopped and looked around. "Where's the best place to eat here? I'm getting hungry."
“Hmmm. Well I suppose that depends on what you’re in the mood for.”
"I'm game, surprise me. Oh, NO hot peppers for me Dean House." Playfully giving him a death stare.
He gave a look to her and shook his head, “I guess that means not that Indian place down the way.”
"I love curry, we can go there. You can have all the hot stuff you want and I will have coconut curry chicken." Teaya gave him a small tug of his hand.
“I already have hot stuff,” leaning and kissing her soundly. Leading the way to the ‘market district.’ Once they were in there, it did look like an authentic Indian restaurant. Offered a booth or table.
"Booth please" Teaya said politely. Once seated she ordered ginger/mint tea and her coconut curry chicken.
While she knew exactly what she wanted, Dean asked for some water and then for her to come back while he looked over the menu.
The waitress returned with their drinks and a plate with some garlic naan bread. She paused momentarily to see if Dean was ready to order yet.
He was actually, setting the menu down. “I’d like to start with the Chili chicken, then the Lamb biryani, the Tandoor Paneer Tikka and last the Tandoori Chicken Tikka Kabab, please.”
The waitress gave him an odd look with all that stuff, like ‘You’re gonna stuff all that into that hot slim body?’ “Coming right up, but that will take longer. Ma’am would you like to have yours held until his order is about ready or now?”
Teaya just smiled softly and shook her head as he rolled out what seemed to be half the menu to their waitress. "I'll wait, thank you." The waitress turned and left and Teaya giggled. "Glad to see you're not very hungry."
“Whatever gave you that impression?” Tilting his head just slightly.
All she could do was grin and shake her head. "Do you know where Mardel and Daniel are?"
“I believe they went to Paris? Though after the attack, the debriefing, probably either still in San Fran or went back to Paris. Its been pretty quiet with everyone doing their own thing. I even let go of keeping tabs and not do work to spend this time with you.”
Nodding. "I understand, but when I call her, I don't want it to be in the middle of the night. There's been more than enough to disrupt everyone's leave. Maybe I will just send her a message instead." Pulling off a piece of the naan and popping it into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully.
Dean wasn’t going to bother with the Naan, that would just fill him up more. “That might be best. Or we can just locate her so we know where and the time zone. We can both talk to her then.”
She only nodded as she had a mouth full of naan. When she finished chewing, she washed it down with some of her tea. "Mm that's really good"
Their food arrived and as several people brought it out. Teaya's eyes grew big as plate after plate of food was deposited on the table. They even moved a side table over to hold three of the plates. "I have never seen you eat so much. Please tell me some of that is going home with us."
“Its not that much. Just four dishes.” Giving a shrug like it was nothing new.” Nodding to each of them in turn as the dishes were brought and set down. “No...I wasn’t planning on any doggie bags.”
They ate their dinner. Teaya watched as she only ate half her food with no room for dessert, getting even more full as Dean ate his food.
“Well aint you gonna eat?” He was half done with his four plates in that time. At least he didn’t look like a pig doing it. Mouth closed as he chewed, not just shoveling stuff in.
"I'm done. That was a lot with the rice and the dahl Brianne plus I at a fourth of that large piece of naan they brought"
“That’s…” Dean shook his head a few times and chuckled, “That’s why I only had a bite. Its there on purpose. Fills you up before your actual meal. A play gimmick like if you go to a bar they have popcorn or peanuts. The salt makes you want to drink more. Free bread makes one want to eat less but patrons still order what they wanted first, so they still get the revenue.”
"Babe you have three times my appetite regardless." The waitress came back to check on them. Teaya asked for hers to be boxed up to takes home.
He reached and plinked her nose, “Never eat the bread first.” Shaking his head to the waitress about his, he was gonna finish it all. “Speaking of amount of food. I am pretty sure I can’t out eat Danvers. Where does she put it.”
Teaya smirked. "I have no idea."
“I don’t either.” It didn’t really bug him, it was just something curious. “So we’re nomming and I’m about done, so what next?”
"Home. It's been a bit of a long day. Actually I could use a massage. It's been a while since I've been on a horse."
“Which home?” Tilting his head, just now finishing up all of his food. “Oh a massage. Mei Lin gives wonderful massages.” He knew that is not what she meant.
She looked at him a bit confused. "Do you want to stay here?" It didn't matter to her for the exception that they didn't have extra clothes. Not that they couldn't buy any but to her it seemed a bit extravagant.
Taking note she said nothing about the massage. “That is entirely up to you. I know, I keep making you make the choices, but its for a reason.”
"What reason?" The massage out of her mind now because he piqued her curiosity.
“Because I’ve already been around all these places. Its a little pointless for me to just say where I know where to go, or what to do, as you haven’t been here. Its just as much fulfilling for me to see you and your expressions for the first time as it was for me. Your enjoyment makes it so much better.”
"Well…" she thought a moment. There was still a lot to see and some quaint shops to poke around in. "I guess we can pick up some clothes and stay here if that's okay with you."
“There are replicators in the Castle, but...those won’t maifest anything near the quality that the hand made ones would be.”
"Let's pay for for our food then gets some clothes I may even let you take me to see this Mei Lin you speak of for a massage." Teaya winked at him. It didn't matter where they were as long as it was together. For as much as she loved Matt, Dean completed her.
The food was actually on the house, so that was taken care of. Picking up the doggie bag of hers as he stood up. “I did actually. If you want to do that, you could give me a list of things as far as clothes you might want. I can do shopping in that time.”
As they left Teaya rattled off what she needed and her sizes. They arrived at the massage parlor.
“I’m pretty sure I know your sizes, dear. Intimately.” Grinning and pulling her up against him and into a very deep kiss. Holding it for a long full minute. Resting his head against hers a moment. “I do love you. Now go relax. I’ll be back in about an hour.”
Teaya sagged against him when he kissed her with a soft moan that passed between them. "I love you too, my darling." A soft sigh "see you in an hour and maybe we can pick this up when we get back to your castle."
“Maybe..if you aren’t to relaxed and just fall asleep on the bed.” Dean gave her one more kiss before he turned to head off to the shops.
"Mmm with that promise I'm sure I can hold out falling asleep." She purred. As he kissed her once more before turning to leave. Mei Lin took her to the back room; showed her a private dressing room with a plush robe hanging for her use. "There is shower to help relax a little before I massage you." Teaya smiled and closed the door and did as instructed. Soon she came out and waited for Mei Lin to show her to the massage table.
“You lay down, naked. I give you lots of pleasure, take all stress away. Make body feel sooo good. Do you wan acupuncture also, Mrs. House?”
Teaya had taken off her robe and played down as instructed. She almost agreed to the acupuncture till she heard her say Mrs. House. "Oh you don't understand, we aren't married. Maybe someday, but we are not there yet." There was a small hint of sadness but she knew maybe someday since they both wanted children.
“Oh..that is good, is good.” Mei smiled, and started getting to her job, and she was very good with it. Also using the heated globes. Which yes, would leave ‘welps’ for a day or so, but they certainly did their job. “So Sensai House, still not completely off market. I like this.”
Teaya popped up off the table in a sitting position covering herself with the sheet. "He is off market as you say. He and I are committed to one another." Teaya slid off the table to head to the dressing room. Yes, the green eyed monster in her peeked it's head from behind the rocks and that was enough for her.
“Where you going? I not finished with massage?”
"Oh I think we are quite finished." Teaya shut the door and sat with her head in her hands to keep from punching the walls. The nerve of her. What if she and Dean… No not going there. Aside from his wife, anyone before her was not her business. Teaya quickly dressed, paid for her massage and left. She walked a bit of a way from the massage parlor till she saw a pub with tables outside. Here she could watch for Dean. She ordered a bourbon neat. She was on her second one and feeling no pain by the time Dean returned and found her.
“But you no get finish.” Not that kind. Shaking her head and saying something in Japanese.
Dean wasn’t even planning to go to the pub. He got a lot of stuff for her...alot. Like six bags full. Also a few things for himself. Having asked Mei why she wasn’t there, she shook his head. “She all mad. Left in a huff. Why you with woman that act like that? I always been here waiting.”
Dean just shook his head. “You know full well why and why that is not going to happen. What did you say to her to upset her?”
“Mei Lin say nothing not the truth. You yummy man, everyone want. What wrong with that.”
“Oh great...thanks, Mei..so she has a jealous streak. You triggered it.” Sighs and heads out, finally finding the pub and moving over to her. “Teaya?”
Teaya had the tumbler in her hand and set it heavily on the table. She motioned for another as she looked at him. "Well hellooo there ro… romeo." Slightly slurred. "Did you see your "friend" on your way back?"
The waitress brought her another tumbler full of bourbon. "Have a seat romeo." She gave the chair next to her a slight kick, pushing it back for him to sit.
“Really, Teaya? She’s like 130. And stop calling me Romeo. You’re drunk.” Taking the tumbler away. “She doesn’t need anymore.” Sitting down. “What set you off. That and I thought you didn’t drink.” Drink being a relative term. Meaning, that she didn’t like this.
Maybe she directed her anger in the wrong direction but she wasn't going to back down. "One how am I to know her age, it's not tattooed on her forehead and two, she seems to think since we aren't married, that you're still on the market." She took a breath… "I know you say you love me but is this how you feel because we aren't married?" Her tone had softened and on the verge of sad. Yes, she was drunk, but the bourbon gave her the fortitude she needed to have this conversation with him.
“What do you mean how I feel? Mei is just an eccentric old woman and there is nothing there. Geez, Teaya. You can also look at her and tell she’s of aged tenour. Why would you even..Care to explain more?”
She wiped her hand across her forehead. The hard liquor on top of making her flushed caused a bead of sweat to break out. "You are far from obtuse Dean. It's hard to not notice how women especially here regardless of age look at you. You're not all just good looks and they know this." Closing her eyes and shaking her head. "I know you love me." She reached for his hand. "This past few weeks have been perfect, we have pretty much been the only one in our little bubble. I love that you brought me here to share this part of your life with me but for the love of the gods Dean I didn't think I would have to worry about your so called friends trying to jump your bones in front of me." She sighed and tears pricked the back of her eyes. Why? Embarrassed, angry she allowed an old woman make her doubt the security of their newness. "I'm sorry" she said softly.
Dean opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. Pursing his lips and instead of saying a word, just pulled her to him to hug her. That should say more than any words would have.
Teaya crawled into his lap with her arms tightly around him. She nipped his ear then kissed his neck tenderly. "Can we go home now?"whispering to him.
“Yes, we can go home now. You need to sleep.” Holding her up against him. All the bags, eh. He could come back and get them. No one was going to steal them.
"I don't want sleep. I would rather snuggle with you. Oh hey, our packages!" She made an attempt to squirm out of his arms.
Just looks up at the ceiling a moment, then back to her and shakes his head. “No. When we get home. I’m sure they would rather you didn’t strew all the clothes all over the pubs floor.”
"Are you mad? Why would I strew clothes all-over. I'm talking about taking our packages home. Let me down so I can walk. I'm not that drunk that I can't walk and help carry packages." She squirmed slightly again. "Babe, please put me down."
Dean sighed a bit and let go of her, which was probably a mistake. He’ll see.
"Thank you" she straightened her clothes. She picked up her earlier purchases tucking the small box with her necklace in her pack and then retrieved two of the bags Dean had.
"Can we go now?"
“Whenever you want to, but it is more prudent to get a transport back to the castle instead of walking this time.”
"And where is there a transport station?"
“Its around the block, why?”
"Let's go." Seems this night went down hill and fast. She said she was sorry. What more did he want. She mentally sighed as she walked in the given direction of his nod.
All he asked her was why she asked, nothing else, and he knew she said she was sorry. His tone never raised with her at all. Dean shook his head a little. Leading her to the station so they could head to the castle.
When they reached the castle, Teaya gave a small sigh and began climbing the stairs to the bridge. "I'm going to take a shower when we get in," she paused and turned her head "join me?" said softly.
Dean was watching her, just in case he needed to catch her. Giving a nod to her, “Of course.”
Teaya gave him a sweet smile and continued her climb. Once they reached the bridge and entered, she gave a soft sigh. "I would not want to make that climb multiple times a day. Nothing would ever get accomplished other than rigorous exercise and I can think of better ways to get that." Giving him a wink, she headed for the bedroom.
“That’s why the other ways actually.” Smiling to Teaya and continued to follow her to the bedroom. “I’m sure you can.”
Teaya deposited the bags and packages on the bed and took off her day pack after she removed the box with her necklace. Then tossed the pack onto a chair. She began digging through the bags and pulling out the clothes Dean purchased. He didn't do half bad. "Thank you " she moved over to where he was at the end of the bed and put her arms around him. "You did a great job choosing clothes for me and the silk gown is deliciously soft.
Dean just leaned a little bit watching her as she went through everything. Glad that she liked what he had picked out. “Thank you, I went off of some other things I’ve seen you wear when you weren’t in uniform.”
"Oh? And just how long have you been stalking me Cmdr. House?" Said playfully.
There was a shrug given, “Oh, I don’t remember now. They were some interesting videos though.”
"Videos!?! You're a pervert Sir!" She laughed. She slid her hands down over his butt and gave a little squeeze. "Let's go get that shower." She slid away from him as her right hand slid from back to front as she slowly walked away from him to head to the shower.
“You should see the collection,” of course he was teasing. Dean gave a smirk at her grope and nodded. “Yes, we should go do that.”
Sated for the moment she had to admit that was one of the steamiest showers and she wasn't talking about the shower. She slipped on the gorgeous gown he bought her with the matching wrap. If fit and hugged her body perfectly. Teaya towel dried her hair before brushing it out. Taking the dryer to her hair and brushing again then braiding. Rarely did she ever leave her hair undone.
That certainly was something, that was for sure. It seemed to get better each time the more they got to know each others bodies and what worked for each other to elevate the experience. Getting all cleaned up while she did also and just went with boxer-briefs. He preferred her hair down. “Well that certainly worked as a stress reliever. Among other things.”
"I hope we have a large enough shower in our quarters." Blushing a soft pink. She turned in her seat to face him. We need to call Mardel in the morning. Have you found out where she and Daniel are at the moment? She did mention France and Greece but who knows where they are." She then stood, walked to the bed and pulled back the duvet and blankets and climbed into bed.
“Its my quarters remember, bigger than the DH’s,” smiling to her. “We’ve been out, when would I have had time to check, love?” Moving with her and sat down next to her on the bed.
Teaya gave a soft shrug. "Maybe while you were shopping, I don't know honey, I was just asking." She stifled a yawn. "I do believe that shower did me in for now." She stood long enough to remove her wrap. "Slide up and over babe, let's go to bed."
