If there are no Bajorians to overthrow the Cardassian occupation force, then Command has no reason to send Capt Sisko to Bajor...which also means that maybe Ben Sisko not even born, since the wormhole aliens won't need him.

It’s more or less consistent. So we know when we left our time and we know where we are in time. So we just need to calculate our exit vector based on the rate of decay.
