Personal History | Born in Oslo Norway, to Per and Mary Lawson, the middle of three sons. Both his parents were astronomers at the country's national observatory. All three children were suppose to follow in their parents footprints, but Swen became a artist, and Olaf went to space on a frieghter. So that left Erik. Althrough out school, he hid the fact that he wanted to be in Starfleet. He studied hard, got good grades, and always behaved. But always, there was his telescope. His personal telescope was state of the art. It wasn't as good or powerful as the observatory's, but it allowed him to see the planets, and the constellations in the heavens. When he was allowed to use the obsrvatories telescope, he was able to see Vulcan, and Andoria. In his senior year at college, he appllied to Starfleet Academy, unknown by his parents. When he took the entrance exam, he took it at the Starfleet Office in London. He told his parents he was taking a class trip. 2 weeks after he took the exam, the results came and he...passed...with marks in the upper 10% of all applicants. So, no othet option, he showed his parents the results, and he apoligized for lying to them. They were both disappointed in his, but they were both very proud that he was following his dream. The day he left for the Academy, they gave him a party, and both his brothers were there. |

Service Record | Entered the academy as a cadet on his 18th birthday. His first week was orientation and physicals and aptitude and counseling sessions. Cadet Lawson had expressed interest in astrometrics leaning on his study of astronomy. But his aptitude test showed that he would be a very good ship's operations officer. So that became his major, and astrophysicists his minor. In his four years at the academy, Cadet Lawson grew as an Cadet, and as a man. He studied hard...got good grades, and by the time he graduated, he was in the upper 12% of his class. With a choice of assignments, and after many sleepless hours deciding, Cadet Lawson decided to apply to the USS Aldrin as an Operations Officer. |
