Sineade paced her living quarters bouncing a fussy little girl on her hip. It took another ten minutes before Tholel Bluebell settled down and fell asleep. She quietly entered the Nursey and laid her down in her crib. She gently kissed all three girls on their foreheads then turned and left the room, leaving only the dimmed lighting on.
Sineade sat down at her computer and for a moment pondered whether sending Tholan another message. She had no idea if he even got any of the others over the past few months. With a heavy sigh she decided to wait for another day or two. After all, the last one was sent just a day ago. A chime sounded on the computer, and she opened the incoming message hoping against hope it was from Tholan. She was disappointed to see it wasn’t. Instead, it was from Cadet Noir. She opened it and was surprised to see he was being transferred off the ship. “Darn,” she exclaimed, “And I really liked that kid. He's going to make a great engineer some day. Everest is lucky to have him.” She also felt a little jealous of Noir. Getting a posting on a star base meant a lot less danger for him. She glanced over to the doorway where her girls were peacefully sleeping. “That would be a much better place for you three as well,” she said quietly.
Sineade turned back to the computer, “Computer, begin personal log.”
The computer sounded the chime to let her know it was recording.
Personal log.. not sure why I even bother with these things. But in any case, the triplets seem to be growing like weeds. There is so much about them I don’t understand. Like why their little antennae seem to droop like floppy ears, or twirl around, or even when they seem to stand straight up stiffly. And of course Tholan isn’t here to help me understand if this is normal or not. Guess I’ll just have to find another way to figure that out.
On another note, It seems our Cadet has been transferred already. And the Starbase Everest. That’s one very lucky cadet, if you ask me. But, I guess we go were we are ordered to go, and where we need to be. I just wish we didn’t go into danger so much now that I have the girls to consider.
It’s sort of ironic though. Noir is going to the same place Flower went. At least he’ll sort of know one person there. But I bet the base is large enough he might not cross paths with Flower. At least not right away.
I’ve been sending update on the girls to Tholan. I have no idea if he even gets them or not. But It’s important for me to keep faith that he is getting them, even if he can’t respond. I miss him so much. I feel bad the he is missing out in seeing his daughters growing up.
In any case, the ship is on it’s way back to Earth. We apparently not only have the Councilors on board, but several Orion refugees as well. All of them rescued from the syndicate slavers. I still can’t believe the Orion Government would allow this sort of thing to continue. It makes ALL Orions look bad, if you ask me. But then no one ever asks me. I hope we have enough time for me to bring the girls to visit their Grandparents. I am a little nervous about that. They weren’t thrilled when I told them I was engaged to an Andorian. And now I have three little half Adorian’s. I just hope they accept them lovingly.
I’ll have to ask Sean if he can come along. Sort of be a buffer, just in case, and help with the girls.
(an audible sigh is recorded) I guess I should get some sleep while I can.
Computer, end and save log,”
Sineade turned off the monitor and the room was silent. She headed over to her bedroom and stripped out of her uniform and got ready for bed. The whole time thinking about Tholan and the girls not seeing each other. She lay on the bed, and cried herself to sleep.
