Joint Personal Log Commander Magnus Morgensen and Lieutenant Heather Argeneau "Forlovelsen" - "The Engagement"
With a stretch and yawn, and a bit of bone creaking, Magnus rolled upright in the bed he and Heather shared, reaching up and running his fingers across one of the several bite marks she'd left on him. His eyes drifted over to her and he smiled, rolling his neck around a few times to limber up.
Heather herself sensed Magnus' movements and started to stretch a bit with cat-like grace, a soft smile on her lips as she looked to him. "Morning, my love." She purred softly, smiling at him as she watched him with sleepy, half hooded eyes.
Magnus chuckled and rolled back into the bed for a moment, kissing Heather's lips gently. "After last night, how can you be sure it's even morning, babe?" Another kiss was placed on her forehead, and he gave a gentle groan as he stood to stretch once more. "I've been thinking about us a lot lately..."
Heather kissed him back, always enjoying these little moments. She watched him softly as he moved. "You're right, considering last night, I can't be absolutely sure that it really is morning... Though honestly, it's hard for me to know considering there isn't a sun unless we fly past one." She smirked, enjoying the view of him standing beside the bed and stretching so tauntingly. "Oh? What have you been thinking about? Come back to bed and tell me."
Shaking his head a bit and chuckling once more, Magnus moved over to the nightstand, grabbing the wine glass resting on it before returning back to the bed. "I've asked myself a thousand times whether I was ready to give up Valhalla... and I finally came to a decision... I'm not giving up on it. I've already found it with you..."
Heather hadn't realized that she was holding her breath until she let it out. She smiled softly, actually blushing to be honest, which yes she could do when she had enough blood in her system. Her body just didn't make enough, so using the blood bags or biting Morgensen helped top her up so to speak. "I feel the same way, Magnus. I've always felt that way." She said softly. Heather had never believed in any form of god or heaven or hell until she found her lifemate and he made her see that there had to be something that leads them to each other.
Magnus returned to the bed, but he didn't climb back into it. Instead, he raised the glass upwards for a moment, then passed it to Heather as he knelt down. "I am ready to be with you forever..." With her attention focused on the glass, he was able to retrieve the little box he had hidden under the bed out of her gaze. "We've gone over this a dozen times or more... and I know you've got enough blood to spare if you're blushing so heavily."
Heather looked to him, then the wine glass, wondering if he was absolutely sure about this. She bit her lip with the need to know. "You're absolutely sure? There is no turning back... and we'll need to get some supplies from Sickbay, especially since the change is painful... and don't say you can do it without pain meds, because my Great Uncle Lucian challenged my father to try that, and when he started screaming in soprano my uncle practically forced pain meds down his throat." Heather said softly, only a little humor in her eyes.
Leaning forwards, Magnus smiled and kissed her lips tenderly, passionately, and nodded. This was the moment, and his hand rose upwards with the carved wooden box in his palm. "Heather... I've been challenged since my birth. Bred through trials and hardships to be the man I am today... and through it all, I never understood why until I met you. Until I fell in love. Now I know the same feelings I saw in my father's eyes every time he looked upon my mother... and I would give up everything I have until there was nothing left but dust to capture that same feeling in my heart..." He placed his forehead to hers and opened the box to reveal a trio of rings; one for him, and two for her. "Heather Argeneau... will you marry me?"
Heather kissed him back, her eyes tearing up as she let him get the words out. Heather had never thought to find her lifemate at such a young age, let alone out in the empty void of space. She knew one thing though... Now that she knew he was willing to make the change, she wasn't going to let him go. "Yes... A thousand lifetimes... Yes!" Heather told him as she kissed him with all the love in her heart. "This change can take a couple of hours or several days... Are you sure you want to do this now when you go back to duty tomorrow?" She asked, though noted that they were burning daylight. The more blood she gave him, the quicker the change would be.
Their lips met with a fire unmatched prior from either of them, and Magnus only paused to slide the ring onto her finger. Remarkably, considering the craftsmanship, it fit her perfectly as though it belonged there from the start. "I go back to duty, yes... but it's either we do so now before I return to duty, or we'll have to wait for me to get some sort of medical leave for it... We should probably get Nightwing here soon to help oversee things... but I'm ready."
Heather kissed him again softly and nodded. "Then yes. Let's get Nightwing involved... I can imagine she'd love to see this process first hand." Heather laughed softly.
