Close enough. I know its a holiday, so those whom wanted to show up, thank you. Obviously not plot tonight. I guess I could have put a briefing but I just now came up with something more than simple CD. Those of us here would get a message once they are off shift to please come to 10-Forward(Starlight Lounge).

○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::finishes her shift report for engineering and logs off her station::
Action: Once the Officers got in there, it looked mostly as usual. It wasn't completely cleared out but it had been set up a bit different. Nothing to unusual than has been done before for a party or gathering. The food, there were drinks, no theme. There was karaoke set up and a stage, which wasn't usually there.
●● Lt. Daniel Connor ::Mitchell takes over for Daniel and heads to Ten Forward::
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::heads to the Starlight Lounge as requested:: I'll only stay for a little while. I really want to get into the new tech report from Starfleet.
●●●● Capt Mardel Shayron-Connor ::Heads to Starlight for whatever it is that House wanted to do. What she really wanted was to go home and curl up with Daniel and just relax. But he said it was important, so she went to the lounge and looked around and sighed. A party, but for what? She goes and finds a quiet corner to sit in so she won't intrude on others having fun::
●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers ::Was there also, just double checking things before anyone else got there:: Danvers> ::Was rather happy just doing another shift but..she could use some time down and socializing. So she went as well.::(edited)
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::carries the PADD with the Tech Report with her, enters the lounge and looks for a quiet corner to hide in, but no such luck. The captain has taken the only one.::

●● Lt. Daniel Connor Agreed ::sits with her and wraps an arm around her::
Action: The tables and chairs were all set up in a completely different manner. Everyone had to be closer, not finding a cubby hole to get into. Of course the bar couldn't be moved but, that was another focal point anyway.
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::takes a seat, that feels uncomfortably close to the others, and starts to read the tech reports::
●● Lt. Daniel Connor ::looks at Mardel:: I wonder what is going on?
●●●● Capt Mardel Shayron-Connor ::leans against Daniel and closes her eyes, sighing softly with content:: Oh, you will find out. Commander House wanted to shake things up a little bit.
●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers Danvers> ::gives a glance, okay this was different. Better not try to get her to sing. Moving to come sit by Sineade::

○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::glances up to see who sat near her, nods at Kara, then goes back to reading, or tries to at least::

●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers ::There was the squeal of a mic just for a moment, then that was fixed. Dean up on the karaoke stage now:: Obviously there's food and stuff. Suppose to be fun, getting to know each other. As part of my job is to work together with the senior officers and the junior officers. So..there are no ranks here tonight, except one thing. ::looking to Mardel:: If you wouldn't mind coming up here Captain for a moment.
●● Lt. Daniel Connor ::gets up and grabs a cold water from the replicator for her and a sweet tea for him::
::returns to Mardel and gives her water and sits::
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::looks up at the 'stage':: Wonder what this is all about.
●●●● Capt Mardel Shayron-Connor ::Nods and stands, moving to the stage, the glass of water in her hand. She takes a moment to drink it and then set the glass down on the bar:: Thank you, Comman.....Dean. ::She started and then since he wanted it informal, changed what she was about to say::
::Looking around the room, she smiled at everyone:: Ensign Darnell, will you please step up here.
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::Raises eyebrows and stands up to move to the stage:: Yes, Ma'am.
::wonders what sort of trouble she's gotten herself into now::
●●●● Capt Mardel Shayron-Connor Ensign Darnell, it has come to the attention of this command team that you have distinguished yourself in many different ways, not the least of which is in logs and helping to post the weekly sim log. Therefor, the rank of Ensign is no longer applicable to you. ::Takes the ensigns pips from her collar and throws them on the ground and then turns to House for the black box::

::reaches back and gets the box, holding it out::

ACTION: Hounddog starts to play and Ensign Jackson gets up and sings a very good rendition of it

●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers ::Stepping down to get out of Jacksons way:: You, singing a song. I already know what Ms. Danvers is gonna do since she can't go to long without doing it.

It would help with a partner but he could do the solo parts himself, and wasn't sucking at all::
ACTION: Footloose ends and Total Eclipse of the Heart starts

ACTION: Total Eclipse of the Heart ends and California Girls starts.

ACTION: California Girls ends and Two Tickets to Paradise starts.
● Ens Amri Vaughan ::knew she would feel embarrassed as she can't hardly dance, so she stays seated::
●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers ::Dean was fine with it and bowed to Kara after Eclipse finished and the dance. Kissing the back of her hand:: Thank you. ::smiling::
Danvers> ::blushed a little bit and shied over to put in her song after Daniel's. Then quickly head back to the table::
●● Lt. Daniel Connor ::smiles and sways to the music; he begins singing::
○● Lt jg Sineade Darnell ::gets up the courage to go request a song... Janis Jopplin::
●●● Cmdr House/●● Lt Danvers ::House could be sweet when he wanted to. Moving to the bar to get a real drink and turn to lean and watch everyone::

Action: Once Daniels had finished, which there was applause to everyone doing so and the ones that actually got out and danced. Next up, Kara with Can't Fight the Moonlight.
