Crew,

We have arrived at Gamma Ventris IV. We are in orbit around the planet and running scans. The leaders of the planet, a Prime Chancellor and counsel is the form of Government and the Prime Chancellor is an elected post that lasts for 10 years and then someone new is voted in, as once Prime Chancellor, you can no longer hold that office, but you can be on the counsel as often as you wish as long as you are chosen by the Prime Chancellor. They have told us not to beam down so we won't be contaminated.

The problem is a bacteria that came from space and has actually turned the population into a form of zombie and the hold out of humans not infected is very small and getting smaller as they are hiding in small groups to survive. These are not the super fast zombies of Resident Evil, but rather the slow zombies of the original Dawn of the Dead, so they are easily avoided. The problem is the bacteria is getting into the water supply and food supply.

The planet needs fresh food and water, and then help getting rid of the bacteria, so they can reclaim those who have been taken over by it and continue to grow as a culture. So, they are asking for our help in this. Good luck to us all.
