Sim Summaries:

USS Aldrin
We went on a humanitarian mission delivering much needed supplies and replacement parts to one of the nearby planets that underwent a catastrophe when their environmental array broke down and they didn’t have the needed parts to repair it. So we took them medical supplies, replicator replacements, parts for their array. We also lost our chief of security, as she needed to transfer to be with her sister for her mental wellbeing. We did have a farewell party for her as she will be missed. But we are expecting a new engineering officer, strait from the academy.

USS Columbia
After discovering why the Apollo, Lola and the Columbia ended up in the temporal void and encountering their captors, coordination from all ships in the void lead to the destruction of two harvesters. Escape is close at hand, but when, and where, will Columbia and company end up?

USS Excelsior
The Excelsior, having returned to their normal patrol area, stopped at Deep Space 6, to brief the admiral of happenings in the Delta Quadrant. As this briefing commenced, the admiral received a message that the station's ship, the USS Relentless, had gone missing. The XL responded to the area, where the other starship was supposed to be studying a newly formed nebula, but all that was found was the energy signature of a one-way battle, and the remains of the Sovereign-class starship. Now, the crew of the XL must figure out what has happened.

USS Hermes

USS Independence
The Independence has become the victim of a starship abduction, with the crew aboard. An entity has taken control of the starship's systems, and has sent the ship into a slip-stream journey toward the far reaches of the Delta quadrant. Attempts to regain control, of the ship, have all been thwarted. Even the ship's, former, A.I., Emery, has been taken over by the entity. Telepathic attempts to find the entity, have revealed that there are more than one entity, within the ship's systems. The other entities, however, do not seem to have the same malevolent desires. One has even adapted to the ship's holographic projectors to speak with the crew. Will the Indy's crew be able to stop this entity before they reach his ultimate destination?

Respectfully submitted,
Commander Travis Cloud
Executive officer

USS Odyssey
The Odyssey had returned from her encounter with the planet/creature known as Vile I, rescuing 3 beings from a submerged spacecraft, and was at station keeping around GS1, when she received multiple messages from Commander Baldwin. A planet in the 2923 Serpentis system, Serpentis I, may be approaching warp capabilities. After receiving a prompt from the Captain, the Commander replied that he would send over the paperwork. However, two sets of information were received; one to the medical department, and one to the Command staff.

As the Odyssey was nearing the Serpentis system, a beep came on the Comm panel, indicating a conflict of communications. As they were orbiting the 2923 Serpentis system, Captain Calvin called for a meeting in the Ready Room to come up with a plan to determine if the warp capabilities signs were from the Serpentinians, or from some other source, possible another race. After the meeting, Lt Benson assembled an Away Team consisting of herself, Ozimov, Okieek, and Monroe, to go to the planet to investigate.

Meanwhile, there was unusual activity at the southern end of the main continent. SR scans indicated a warp signature leaving the planet, revealing a sub-space communication buoy which seems to be carrying some type of information, phasing in and out of space-time, and indicating the possibility of another faction using warp technology, using our transponder code. The Odyssey was eventually able to transport the buoy aboard the ship, along with the surrounding atmosphere. During initial analysis, it was determined that the buoy was actually from the Odyssey.

USS Penumbra

. The Penumbra is back in the distant Gamma Quadrant in the territory of Federation Allies, the Aslan Heirate. We pushed our engines to the extrem to get across half the galaxy from the Holy Order of Kinshaya in the Beta Quadrant because we think the Rift to the Mirror Universe we encountered here near the Kyrathian frontier of the Heirate might be where the Golem Cain re-entered our universe.
. We have docked with Aslan Starbase Six and shut down our engines and generators for a much-needed inspection and maintenance (and hopefully not repairs). Our long-time friend, Federation Ambassador Adam Android, has also docked at the Starbase with his modified Romulan Shuttle, the ISS Asimov. We have provided him a full data dump of everything we know about his Mirror Universe counterpart and what the Kinshayan Bishop, Yazgrom, told us about him capturing the Bishop's family and using them to coerce the Bishop to plant bombs embedded with micro-machines at the space port of Tepesi 2.
. We have a one-hour layover planned at the Starbase, during which we will meet with the Android to get his input on the Golem problem. We can also inquire with the Aslans whether they've encountered the Golem. While we're here, we can get an update on the old Kyrathian Swarm problem as well.
. The 10 members of the Penumbra crew that were infected by the micro-machines have (mostly) recovered, but a few might have some lingering breathing problems due to the damage the machines did to their lungs. None have shown any ill effects from the use of Borg and Section 31 nanites to remove the Golem's insidious micro-machines (or at least, none yet).

USS Roddenberry
R&R bound...
With the logs that hold the key to keeping the field generator working as it should - translated for future use, the missing crystals reintegrated, as well as, the asteroids returned to their orbital track. Friends were made, and families were reunited. The USS Roddenberry found that the Cadets on their summer voyage were more than just the promise of our future, but had their heads on straight and ready to get down to serious work.
Parting ways from the USS Sutherland saying goodbye to the cadets as they continue their summer tour and turn their nose towards earth once more. this time with the intent to follow through with their plans to relax while repairs or refits were done to the Roddenberry. A much needed rest, considering they had been on their way to R&R when they originally got the distress call.
Until next time on the USS Roddenberry...

Advice from Admiral Killian Sylver

Ship Protocol - Away Team Procedures

This is another area that is sometimes overlooked when coming up with away teams. Every away team needs to have at least one security person, someone trained in emergency medical procedures, and someone with training in science. Whoever else you send is up to you, but this is how an away team should be assembled. The ship’s captain and executive officer should have a list of the crew and what training they have so they can create a balanced away team and so that every crew member takes a turn at the away teams.

Once the away team is assembled, each member needs a phaser for personal protection. Each member needs a tricorder or scanner of some kind and it needs to be set on automatic scan and feed to the ship so that those on the ship can record the readings as well to help assess any situation that might come up. Each member needs to have a working communication device with the universal translator working at all times. Finally, each member should be appropriately attired, be that uniforms, cultural costume, or environmental suits.

When the away team returns to the ship, the first place they should go is sick bay. They need a full scan in sickbay to make sure that they aren’t carrying something that the transporter either missed in its filter or didn’t recognize as a threat and ignored it. Once they are cleared in sickbay, they then must report back to their commanding officer to report on what they discovered and if further visits are deemed necessary.

Most forget these simple, yet necessary protocols. Drills on this should also be carried out so that everyone is ready if they are called for an away team and then follow through with all the protocols rather than skipping a step. The holodeck is a good place to practice this.

Dr. Noah Fyrstk
On the Borg cube, Dr. Noah Fyrstk watched the team members. They all seem occupied with learning about these constructs, and their mission. Noah was concerned about something else.
Ensign Six of Twelve.
He stepped away from the group, keeping them in eyesight, but, hopefully, he was far enough away, that they would not hear him. He tapped his combadge three times, sending it into recording mode.
"Chief Medical Officer's Log, Stardate... unknown
"Ah'm slahghtly concerned about Ensign Six of Twelve," he said in a hushed tone. "She is exibiting some strange behavior. During this mission, she started giggling, for no apparent reason. When the soldier construct came upon us, and aimed its disruptor at us, she did nothing. She simply stood there, and had to forcibly be moved into cover. Ah scanned her, but have not detected anything unusual.
"When Ah trahed asking her, how she was feeling, she responded, mimicking mah accent. When Ah asked her about that, she was not even aware she was doing it.
"Ah know she had her Borg implants replaced bah catoms, when the Caeliar accepted the Borg into their gestalt. Not all of the drones wanted to become a part of that, so the Caeliar allowed them to remain with us, but had all the Borg implants, and nanites, replaced by catoms. Ah do not know much about them, but Ah suppose it would be beneficial for Six, for me to learn more about them.
"Ah will be keeping close tabs, on her, whahle we are on this cube, and once we return to the ship, Ah will discuss, with her, fahnding out more about the catoms."
Noah tapped his combadge, again, shutting off the recorder. He knew it would be automatically downloaded to the ship's log storage, and he rejoined the group.

=/\= Begin Log =/\= Lt JG D'Nara Latrelle Rushed D'Nara had been concerned that Vanak was alone after the power fluctuations. While it wasn't a total blackout, just the chance that the Nanny's holo-emitters could have gone offline was enough to worry her. She found it a bit hard to concentrate on the science station and the scans and had to force herself to pay attention. It was quite obvious she wanted to go as she kept looking towards the Lift and taking a breath before forcing herself back to the task at hand. Apparently it was enough for the commander to shake her head and tell the LtJG to go check on her son. D'Nara didn't need to be told twice, "Yes, Ma'am," She said as she quickly turned for the lift, letting another officer take her station. The ride to the deck where their quarters were seemed to take forever, even though it was only a few seconds as it normally was. Walking into her quarters she saw Vanak working on some sort of puzzle that Varok had given him. The Holo-nanny looked up from her seat at the table, "Is there a problem, Mrs Varok?" D'Nara shook her head and sighed in relief, "No, but I was concerned you had been disengaged when the power fluctuated. The Nanny nodded, "Ahh, I understand your concern. But as it was not a total loss of power I remained functional." Vanak got up and toddled over to his mother and hugged her leg, "Mothr, good!" D'Nara smiled and reached down to hug her son, 'Yes, Vanak, we are all good." Vanak gave a serious nod of his head before returning to his puzzle. D'Nara chuckled and gave her head a shake, "And on that note, I need to get back to the bridge. I apologize for the interruption." Now that she was certain Vanak was not alone she could concentrate. With a nod of her head she left her quarters and was back on the bridge within two minutes. She moved back and took over the science station once more. While she could not actively track the Sphere-Ship she could at least determine it's probable trajectory. Using the data from her scans over the past few minutes she realized where the ship was headed. =/\= END LOG =/\=

"Dark Grimes"
JDL: (Alternate) Sherlock Grimes & Larie

(Takes place during the very end of the sim of 202306.18)

The bright interior of the Excelsior's bridge, was suddenly replace, in Larie's vision, by a much darker interior. At first, she could only move her eyes, and she watched the man who was, almost, an exact double of her husband, move to stand by a control console. His hand reached out to the console, and on a view screen, she could see the Excelsior slide away and the placid starfield was suddenly replaced by streaks of light.
The man turned toward Larie. She could clearly see his features. It was Sherlock, but he had none of the Borg implants that her husband had. He walked toward her, and Larie found she could move her body, again.
Larie stared at this man a moment, her eyes watching him carefully. But she felt every instinct warning her that this man was a danger to her and not at all like her Sherlock. Slowly, she backed away from him, her face a study between fear and determination. Then with rapid reflexes from her always working out and keeping in fighting shape as if she were still on Orion, she drew her dagger and stabbed him in the stomach and was going to rip up to empty his bowels.
The man's face went from a sneer, as he had continued to stalk her, to one of surprise. His dark eyes went wide, and changed to the kind eyes Larie was accustomed to. A dark, sticky liquid flowed from his open stomach, onto her blade and her hand. He brought his hands to his stomach, as if to feel the open wound, Then, just as quickly, his face took on that sneer again, and his eyes went dark again. The wound seemed to close itself, and his hand shot out, grabbing Larie around her neck and physically lifting her off the deck. His other hand snagged her wrist, where she had been holding the dagger, to immobilize it.
"Now, now, My Forever Love," the dark Grimes said with a sickly smile. "I can't have you go ruining my uniform, now, can I?" He looked down her body "And aren't you uncomfortable with all these clothes on?" There was a slight movement of the fingers, around her neck, holding her in place, but not choking her, and she felt her clothing fall away from her body. "Yes, much better, wouldn't you say?"
"How dare you! You are not MY Sherlock and I am not Your Larie. And I don't get naked for just any man." She kicked out and hit him in the groin with her foot and then grabbed his hand and knowing she was stronger than he was, forced his hand away from her throat and fell to the deck and picked up her clothing again. It didn't take her long to fashion an approximation of furs with the shredded clothing. "Don't ever presume with me." She spit at him. "Return me to my Sherlock, at once." She demanded, allowing her pheromones to flow unchecked from her to him to influence him to do her bidding. Moving her body in ways that would enhance what the pheromones were doing to control him, something she hated having to do and something she had never done with her Sherlock.
The kick, to his mid-section, did not produce the response she had been hoping for, and as she released her pheromones, the dark Grimes merely seemed to inhale them and grow stronger. He lifted his right hand, and Larie found herself suspended above the deck. With a swipe of his left hand, her "furs" were gone again. His dark smile widened.
"Oh, how I've missed that fighting spirit," he hissed. "And those pheromones... " He threw his head back and let out his breath. "... Ahhh, so wonderful." He lowered his head, his dark eyes fixed on hers. "Do you know how long I have searched for you? For the right you, that is."
"I am not the right one for you." She said softly. "You want someone more ruthless. I am not that person." She went limp, not unconscious, just dead weight. She had heard of those who had become addicted to the pheromones and stopped them, caging them once more. He wanted fight, she wouldn't give it. He wanted his 'fix' of pheromones, he wasn't going to get it from her. "I don't know what happened to your Larie, but even you know I am not her." She wanted her own Sherlock, in the worst of ways.
"No. You are not my Larie... yet," he said in a soft tone, which reminded her of her Sherlock. "For it was my Larie, who slew her own sister, took me from her ship, and showed me... 'a better way.' And,... " His fingers lightly stroked her cheek, then traced the shape of her ear. "I will, now, show you, the better way."
Larie looked up at him sharply. "She killed Mardel?" Hot tears splashed down her face at the thought of any universe that didn't have her sister in it. Mardel, who could be cold as space and warm as a comfotable bed, hard as diamonds and soft as willow down. "There is no better way, not without Mardel." She whispered. "And borg nanites don't effect me. My Sherlock and I explored that, something you would know if you had checked."
"Borg nanites?" he repeated with a questioning look. Sherlock, then threw his head back in laughter. "Oh, you thought I was one of them? No. Their silly little bots had no effect on me. None, again, thanks to you. Oh, they tried. They destroyed Orion as they tried to annihilate the Alpha Quadrant, and yes, they tried to take me, but I took them. I could not save you... my sweet Larie, but I took each, and ever one of them, and then used their ship to come find you."
Larie closed her eyes. "I don't know why you thought I was like your Larie." She paused a moment. "What do you mean you could not save your Larie? What happened to her?" She really needed to know.
His face saddened. "The Borg. They decided the Alpha quadrant races were not worth assimilation. Too much trouble, I guess." His face darkened again. "So, they decided to annihilate us all. I had transported aboard their vessel to stop them, when they came to Orion, but they did not hesitate and destroyed the planet, and you... my Larie, was still down there." again, a sadness came to his features. "I failed to save her."
Larie closed her eyes. "No, she wasn't on that planet. I don't know how you found me, but I felt you. We are one of the couples the universe itself put together. If you stop blaming yourself,, you should be able to feel your own Larie. It's there, a faint thread. But it's still there. It isn't dead and gone, like it would be if one of the two of you were dead." She thought about it. "If I help you find your Larie will you return me to my Sherlock?"
His face darkened even more. He thrust his right hand out, and without even touching her, Larie flew backwards and collided with the bulkhead.
"No!" he raged. "Do you not think I would have felt her? You think me a fool?" His features softened, almost becoming apologetic, for hurting her. "I know we are linked. That is how I knew you were on that ship." He, once again, suspended her body, above the deck. "I felt her life force snuffed out. She, and everything we had built, together, were annihilated. But, with you, I can rebuild what we had. You and I will rule again."
"I can't." She said simply. "I haven't gone through the rituals to allow me to have children, so I am barren. And I do not share your mind set in things. And yes, she is alive. I feel her as well. She appears to have been weakened somehow, perhaps because she gave so much of herself to you and didn't save enough for herself. And Sherlock, you know as well as I, Orion isn't in Alpha, it's in Beta. And go ahead, get as angry at me as you want, but if you know me at all, you know that I do understand these things better than most and when it comes to other Orions, no one is better at it than I am, being a 4 school healer." She reminded him. Dark green bruises starting to appear on her body from his temper.

"You will help me," he told her. "You will help me, or I will seek out your sister in this universe, and she will die by my hands.
The man turned away from her. She immediately fell to the deck. He touched a control on the console, and a force field shimmered into existence, around Larie. He looked back toward her, again. "I did not wish to threaten you, but if you continue to try and brain wash me with your lies, I will have no choice." He turned his back on her, again, and simply stood at the console, as the ship flew on its way to their destination.

Some Answers From the Source

Doctor Stacey "Bones" Harris
Commodore Mardel Shayron-Connor

Dr. Stacey Bones Harris kicked her stool over in the lab. It had been a few hours since Larie left her office and left her with a mystery. Within minutes, she had finished up with the current patients in sickbay, and turned the rest over to Varok. She was off to the lab, all tiredness forgotten despite her lack of sleep recently due to her rambunctious 5 year olds who want to be up half the night. She was too excited to get that sample on a slide and under a microscope. She found a deserted part of the lab and went to work. Unfortunately as soon as she put a sample under the lighted microphone, it basically dried up into nothing and she couldn’t see anything or get any readings off of it at all. She tried two more times. Same result, except the third time was punctuated by the stool toppling over from her frustrated kick. Sighing and scrubbing at her hair with a sigh, she looked at the rest of the sample in the cup. Before her very eyes, the liquid also started to evaporate and dry up. “No no no no!” She looked around frantically wondering if she could get it to a fridge or something before it was gone completely. She knew she had only seconds to react. Then she got an idea. She ran to Harvey the Hamster who was in a cage in the corner. He mostly was there to amuse the kids when they took field trips to the lab. Bones gave him the very small bit of milk that was left and he drank it. Bones watched him closely and got out her scanner. Within minutes, he seemed to shrink a bit, and also lost some of the grey tinge on his hair as he was an older hamster. A few minutes later, he was on his wheel running with more vigor than she seen out of him for quite a while. Her eyes got wide and she scanned him. Not wanting there to be an electronic trail of this, she entered notes into to an old-style notepad with a pencil rather than her PADD. She watched him running for several more minutes wondering how long he could keep this up, and how long this elixir might last.
About 90 minutes later, the doctor was awoken by a comm beeping in the lab. She jumped up, startled. She must have dozed off watching Harvey run around his cage. She wiped the drool off the arm she had fallen asleep on and looked around. No one ever uses the lab comm. In fact, she had forgotten there even was a long range call terminal in there. She looked around again. She was alone, save for Harvey who was still hyper. She went and answered. “Hello? Bones here.”

Mardel smiled when Doctor Harris's face came into view. She had already secured the lines on both ends, letting her friend Micheal Holden know she was talking medical business with Doctor Harris and he could listen if he wanted but what he heard was completely confidential and he would understand if he listened in. "Ah, I finally get to meet you, Doctor Harris. I've heard a lot about you. I see you are having a little trouble with the sample Larie gave you."

Bones raised her eyebrow, not knowing who this was until it clicked. “Ah, yes, you must be the older sister. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

Mardel laughed softly. "Yes, I am Commodore Mardel Connor, Larie's older sister. And I have the answers you are looking for. You have probably noticed that the sample has deteriorated. Ask Larie for another small sample so you can see it for yourself. I am sending you on this secure line all the data I have on it. In order to look at it under a scope, you have to use ultraviolet light. The UV's of normal light kills the sample before you can get a close look at it. And so far, the only way I've found to preserve it beyond an hour is to freeze dry it. But when it's mixed again with a liquid, it's only half as effective. So it is always best to get it straight from an Orion healer or wise one. Any other questions you have for me?"

Bones sat back and looked at the stream of info coming in. “No. That’s fantastic. You surmised correctly. My first sample is gone. I will ask her for another small one and do what you recommend. Thank you for the trust you’re placing in me, commodore.”

"Doctor Harris, I've told this to Commodore Holden, but I will now tell you. I may be the elder in years, but in abilities and strength, Larie far outshines me. She has a special destiny and the Universe is guiding her toward that end. She trusts you, so I will. Her heart is pure, and while I wouldn't call mine tainted, it has turned a bit cynical with my years in Starfleet and in the Federation, so it is...not as pure. Don't mistake pure heartedness as simple or ignorant, because she is not that, by a long shot. But she won't put herself forward, she's always been reserved and shy. I hope you can understand what I am telling you." Mardel said simply.

Bones nodded, “yes, of course.”

Mardel smiled to herself. She wasn't so sure that Doctor Harris did understand, but no matter, she was aware that Larie was special and that is what mattered. "Okay, Doctor Harris. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call me. And please, take care of my sister. The entire Universe would be a much darker place without her." Then she signed off and returned to her bed for a few more hours of sleep before duty.

Bones was about to agree when the screen went dark. She sat there, still surprised at about all of this. She took one more look at Harvey, who was now humping the hamster wheel and shrugged. She shut the lights off and decided it was high time she got some rest herself. She would resume this quest tomorrow.

Doctor Stacey "Bones" Harris
Larie Grimes

Larie took a deep breath and turned and locked the door behind her. "I'm sorry, but this can't get out. It's one of the reasons why I'm so hunted. Why all healers and wiseones from the clans are hunted. Breeders are all over and while useful to keep the males happy and keep the population from dying out, it's those of us with special traits that they need so badly." She said softly.

Dr. Harris raised her eyebrows. Larie always seemed to surprise her with Orion traditions and secrets. Bones considered herself fairly well-read, and kept up on medical practices of as many species as she could...but somehow, Orions always have something new to teach her. She sat further forward, "of course you have my full doctor confidentiality agreement, but I'll understand if you don't want to share deep secrets. I am only interested in the health and well-being of this crew, so as long as that is not at risk- there's nothing that you have to share. Still, anything that can help from a medical perspective, I'd like to know about. However, I would never want to risk your safety. If they ever grab me and put me under one of those hot, bright lights like they do in those old movies; I have to warn you I might crack pretty easily." She chuckled but was only half-joking.

Larie gave a weak smile. "No, Stacey Bones, the ones that hunt me don't do that. They do worse but they won't kill you or allow you to kill yourself. But they won't go after you, because they will assume I wouldn't share this particular.....secret.....with you." She took a deep breath. "If I ever undergo the ceremony that will allow me to have children, I will have to use formula, I will not be able to breastfeed it as most women are." She started.

Bones was getting whiplash, first from her- they might kill you but probably won't declaration to that. "I'm sorry. Come again. You're going to have to explain that one to this old doctor."

" I'm always in a state of lactation, but I control it. My breast milk has special properties. There is a price when I use it though. It takes years off of my age and the age of whomever I give it to. But it will cure anything from almost dead to broken bones to blood poisoning to infections of the blood and body, barrenness, well, you name it and it can fix it. The other Sherlock wasn't normal, I am not sure what he was, but I saw his Larie drinking blood like food. When I saw Zarian bleeding from his neck/shoulder, I knew that the other Sherlock was trying to infect Zarian with whatever he had. I couldn't allow that to happen. As it was, the other Sherlock had taken my clothing, so it was easy to turn my back on everyone when I was at the replicator and put some of my breast milk into his orange juice. It smelled to him like the most wonderful drink in his experience and tasted like a mix of the orange juice and that wonderful drink. I was pretty beat up and bruised when I was rescued, but when I gave of myself to save Zarian I lost those ten years and so did he and it healed both of us. Giving my milk to an infant will take away any growth it has and either put it back in the womb, or back as an egg, thus I can't breastfeed an infant. Take too much of my breast milk, and I will become so young that I could also end up either back in the womb or as an egg." She explained softly. "It's one of the things about Orions we never let out and please, I will help if you need it, but I can't do it openly, unless it's just the other kind of healing I do with the natural things that grow on Orion mixed in the right way. And yes, Starfleet Medical knows about it, Mardel saw to that and they are also sworn to this secrecy and understand why it is needed or the healers and wiseones of the Orion would be hunted to extinction.

Bones' eyebrows flew into her hairline and she stammered, "I'm sorry. What? I'm glad I'm sitting down." She looked down towards her desk drawer where she kept physical books of all different subjects, including xeno-biology. "I have never read anything like this. You mean to tell me that you lactate all the time, not just while pregnant, and if you did while pregnant- you couldn't use it anyway because you and the baby would de-evolve? You are also telling me that Starfleet Medical is aware of this, and never told me even though they know that I have one of these special Orions on my ship, and lastly," her eyes got wide, "you gave Lobren your breast-milk so he wouldn't turn into a fu**ing vampire??"

Larie put her hand on Stacey Bones's hand to calm her as she could see her spirit and mind becoming unbalanced. 'They didn't have to tell you, because I am a healer and I already know. Most Orions don't have this ability, only the healers and wiseones. And yes, I used it to cure Zarian, I didn't want him becoming....whatever it was that the other Sherlock was. It would have killed that warmth, humor, and light within him. And you won't find this in any book, as I said, it's a closely guarded secret. I wouldn't be safe if anyone knew. Think of what a Ferengi would do with such information, or a Romulan or a well, I could name a list of people who would abuse it. I am trusting you to not abuse it. But if needed, I will give, if you ask. " She finished softly.

Bones didn't know what to say, "this is quite unbelievable....and if true- absolutely remarkable." Her mind was swirling with the medical possibilities of this, but she also tried to remain calm and acknowledge the danger; because Larie was right. This couldn't get out. She opened her desk drawer and pulled out a test tube. "Would you agree to a sample that I can test in the lab? You don't have to say yes, but if you do- I promise no one outside of me and anyone you use it on, would ever know this...and I would only need a tiny drop, just enough to put on a microscope slide. You can bring this test tube back to me later...and you don't have to agree. But I'm a scientist, I require proof."

Larie reached out and picked up the empty juice cup. She moved her blouse away and demonstrated, but just a little, not enough to really show age wise, about a year. Then she covered up again and handed the cup to Stacey Bones. "As you see, it's quite true. When I was first on board, and Satori saved my life, she did this for me, taking my milk and feeding it to me to heal me when I would have bled out. But she is also sworn to the secret, by my sister, Commodore Mardel Connor. She did show you a cure from Orion, just not this cure." She explained. "And please, don't get angry with Satori, she was just doing her job and following orders from someone a little higher ranked than you and preserving my secret."

Bones took the cup. "Thank you. I will take this down to the lab personally. No one else will get their hands on it. However, I feel like we should tell Lobren. After all, you used it on him, and may have saved his life if what you say is true. Also, he's chief of security so he's safe, and he will know why you are so important to protect."

Larie nodded. "That would be acceptable. I suppose it will help him understand better why I am so hunted, especially by the syndicate that hunts us and uses us up faster than we can handle and we either return to the womb or die. They are not kind to the healers and wiseones they manage to get their hands on. They have none of their own.``

Larie thought for a moment and then hesitated. "Will there be a record of you looking at this and studying it? If so, then please don't. Talk to my sister, she will give you all the information you need. She was medically trained by your Federation after her escape from Orion. She is also a healer and wiseone. "

Bones sighed, "yes, that would be a scary life. No doubt." Bones shook her head. "No, this is off the record. I need to know, but it won't be recorded anywhere."

Larie relaxed then. "Thank you, Stacey Bones." Then she smiled a little. "After you look at a sample, you could test the rest on yourself and see if you don't feel better." She offered a little impish grin tugging at her lips and twinkling in her eye. "There is enough there for that, not enough to take more than a year, but enough to make you feel better."

Bones smiled but shook her head, "thanks for the offer, but I'm good. Maybe I'll save the remainder for a sickbay emergency, if you are amenable to that. What's the refrigerated shelf life, do you know? Has this ever been tested?"

Larie blinked. "I don't know. It's always been fresh when given, no one has ever kept any because we only give what they need and on Orion, they take it as a babe would, rather than in a glass. You would have to ask Mardel that. I'm sure she has tested it." She said with a shrug.

"Oh," Larie started. "When you call Mardel to ask her, don't tell her why until she has the chance to protect the transmission. So say something like...'I'd like to ask about your sister.' or 'Something has come up with your brother in law.' Then she'll nod and hold up her hand and don't talk until she replies to you. Then the line will be secure. She's being hunted too, but the syndicate has mostly given up on her, seeing as how she is protected by the Federation as one of their officers and now as a high ranking officer at that." Larie finished, telling this to Bones so that she wouldn't make a mistake and give away their position to those that were always listening for her or Mardel's whereabouts.

Bones shook her head. "I don't need to contact your sister at this time. I can do my own research with this sample. The fewer people in the know and talking about it, the better." She stood up, eager to get to the lab. "I'll call you myself once I've done some research. And I'll only tell Lobren, no one else. Promise." She extended her hand for a hand-shake. "Thanks for trusting me."

Larie stood and shook her hand. "Of course, Stacey Bones. You trust me, I can do no less to such a giving woman." Then she unlocked the door and left, and then wondered something, she turned back to Bones. "Did you still want me to talk to that cute little Doctor Pilan?"

Bones shrugged, "if you want. You seem stable to me. It's always a good idea, but it's not an order."

"Okay." Larie smiled and left sickbay after stopping by Satori's desk and touching her shoulder and looking in her eyes. No words were needed between the two of them and then they nodded to each other and Satori watched her leave. Larie went home then, she was going to call Mardel.

Larie Grimes

She laid down within the confines of her cage. She watched the back of the other Sherlock and knew he was angry and that he didn’t believe her. She could also see that he wasn’t going to give her up, she would have to depend on Her Sherlock to find her and save her.

Larie made a pillow of the rags he had made of her clothing. The nudity didn’t bother her, it was how she was raised and lived until she met Her Sherlock and learned how the Federation did things. She still had her knife, but it was useless against this Sherlock.

She did her best to keep her tears locked behind her eyes. She wanted Her Sherlock. She wanted to hear his voice and feel his arms around her. This other Sherlock didn’t feel right, his hands weren’t the same, his voice wasn’t the same, his eyes weren’t the same. There was in him what she didn’t like, the taking ways, taking what he wants and damn anyone else who might be hurt.

Larie turned from him when he looked over his shoulder at her. She did her best to listen to the universe, listening to what it would tell her. She felt Her Sherlock, and felt his anger at her being stolen and his wanting her back. She felt his ruthlessness in getting her back, it was a side he had but rarely showed to her as it was used to protect her and keep her safe. She sent all the love she could through that link they shared and prayed he could feel it. Maybe that would be the bread crumbs that would lead him to her.

“Sherlock, please hurry, come and save me. Take me home.” She whispered so softly even she didn’t hear it, but she prayed that the universe heard it and would send it to Her Sherlock,, her beloved, the man that changed her life and made her change everything she had been taught and gave him her leash so to say.
