Mission:
Ghost Hunting Season
Location: USS Aldrin Lounge
To say the Sineade was shocked that she was at a farewell party for one of her best friends would have been a total understatement. She had no idea that Flower was even considering leaving the Aldrin. She had just been ordered to report to the lounge and that was when she had found out.
She sat to the side as others made their farewells and offered gifts. It made her feel as if she'd been purposely left out.
Flower walked over to her and smiled, "Hey Tinker."
Sineade looked up and tried to smile at her friend, "Hey Tank."
Flower handed her something, an iso chip, “it’s a copy of the Soan program."
Sineade smiled, "Thanks. But I still can't believe you are leaving the Aldrin." She pointedly rubbed her belly, “These guys haven't even met their Aunt Flower yet!"
Flower also rubbed Sineade's belly, "I know. But this will give you a reason to visit me during your leave time"
"If I can get the time and someone to help with the triplets," She replied sadly.
Flower nuzzled her friend and walked to a quiet corner, "Tinker I know this was a shock. But it was either this or return to earth with no support system. "
"I just wish I'd had some sort of heads up, you know," Sineade said as they settled into the corner, "I didn't even have time to even think of a gift for you."
"I didn't much of a early warning either. I have been flagged Tinker. I was very shocked at this news..." Flower purred sadly.
Sineade shook her head, "I can only imagine how that feels. But at least they aren't locking you away or anything. And isn't that Starbase where you have family?" Sineade tilted her head as she tried to remember, "That should help, at least I think it would."
"Yes my older sister and her family are there. Again if I didn't take this offer, I would have been shipped to earth for more counseling, and not be allowed to talk to anyone, including Rait," she explained.
Sineade let out a small huff, "Well, I guess you made the only choice you could, but I'm still going to miss you."
Flower nodded, "We still have some time before we arrive. We should do something together. "
Sineade nodded, "I would like that. After the party we can get together, maybe get a bit to eat?"
"It feels like we haven't had much time together lately. "
Sineade chuckled ruefully, "It certainly feels that way. I haven't even seen you in engineering in a dog's age!"
Flower curled up her tail, "I know! But I was thinking more of visiting a certain Andorian we both are friends with. "
Sineade smiled, "I think I would like that even more. I know he would be hurt if he found out that you left us and never told him. "
"Yeah he would toss me around if he found out. And I already feel as if I have already been beaten up, " Flower perked up her ears.
Sineade chuckled a bit, "I wonder what he'll say when he sees this," she said as she looked down and patted her swollen belly, "I don't remember if I've seen him since I found out."
"There is only one way to find out!" She giggled a little, feeling a bit more of herself.
Sineade nodded, feeling a bit better herself, "Okay, we have a few days right? We'll go tomorrow! I'll make sure I take the day off. It pays having control of the duty schedules!"
"It sure does." Flower agreed.
Sineade smiled, "Go, and mingle with everyone. We'll have our time tomorrow!"
Flower stood up "Okay my round Tinker, " she teased.
Sineade laughed, "Very funny, Petal Girl!"
Flower returned to the others with a more relaxed look on her face.
