I was given my assignment at Deflector control today. I was about forty minutes into my shift when I got called by Captain House to go to sickbay. Fortunately, I had just finished my work so I packed my enginering kit away and headed straight down there.
When I got there, several people were already there. Lieutenant Darnell, who I believe is the brother of my department head, Commander Connor, Security Chief Savek, and I were supposed to join Captain House on an away team mission. I had basically no time to prepare since it was very much a spur of the moment thing which is an expression humans use to denote "short notice", but I was told immediately as I arrived that I would have to look like a human so I'd have to put away my earring and surgically change my nose to be smooth like a human. It was a quick change too since my cosmetic change was minimal and only Lieutenant Savek really needed the cosmetic changes done.
Now that we're ready, we had to get new clothes. I had to change into some odd looking suit with a jacket that bore very broad shoulders, thick sleeves, and baggy pants with tapered ankles. I had to put on some kind of hat that was very odd looking and some shiny shoes that were very slippery when walking in them. We're heading to the transporter room and I guess Captain House is supposed to give us our briefing as we are on our way there. This is my first away mission, I know I've said but I have to say even though the fear of the unknown is somewhat bothersome, I'm more filled with excitement. End Log
