Starfleet HQ Medical Wing, Secured ICU

Nurses flowed in and out of Ensigns Oelh "Joy" Tsuruchi room, having to scan their card every time they enter and had to show it to the two security officers. After the attacks on Aldrin crew members and the massive attack on Starfleet HQ. They were on high alert. The monitors beeped and steadily with Joy's heart rate and but the EEG was steady, not much brain activity. Has been for over a month now.

Nurse Banner entered the room and moved to the bed. "afternoon Ensign. I'm nurse Banner. " as she spoke she looked up that the EEG. Hoping that it would respond. She frowned and scanned Joy with the tricorder. She lifted the blanket and looked at the amputation spot where the shrapnel had cauterized the wound living it jagged at first but surgeons removed the damaged tissue and closed it. She checked for infection before covering it back up. As she turned back towards the head of the bed she screamed.

Joy was sitting up looking at her confused as to where she was. "I'm sorry to scare you." Joy said her voice dry and raspy. Her ribs had healed and the swelling on her brain had gone away within the first week.

The nurse held a hand to her chest, trying to catch her breath, two security members entered phasers in hand. "its ok guys she startled me." she then waved off the security guards. The guard looked at her, "you sure you're ok?" the nurse nodded.

Once the guards left, "Joy what is the last thing you remember?" Banner asked her.

Joy looked at her hands and then at the space where her foot should be. "I remember... I don't know if you're cleared for this."

The nurses smiled. "I was briefed, You can go one, there is no one else." She sat on the edge of the bed putting a hand on Joy's arm.

"I remember the warp core breach, the panel exploding I got thrown back and hit my head hard." she reached up and touched her head where she had hit. I vaguely remember Kara grabbing my suit and pulling me out of the exploding runabout. I passed out and that's all I remember. About the accident. " she paused. "How are Kara and the captain's baby and the rest of the crew?" she asked scared for them.

"they are good Kara didn't receive anything but a few minor scraps. THe captain and the rest of the crew are on a shakedown cruise with the updated Aldrin. How do you feel? any pain?"

Joy shook her head yes, "Throbbing where my leg should be. I know it's phantom pains but it feels weird."

"its ok that will happen until your body gets use to the shock of it not being there. I can give you meds to help with the pain and help you sleep."

Joy nodded. "thank you. Can you send a report to the Aldrin that I'm awake?"

Banner smiled. "I'll try. Here sleep now." she pressed the hypo against Joy's neck and hit the button.

"thank you." Joy said with a smile and laid back down pulling the blankets up her neck.
