Shake Down Mission

Teaya was heading back to base to her temporary quarters after her lunch with Mardel. She sent a message to Dean to see if he had plans for the evening.
They still had, or were supposed to do that Atlantis swimming, but if she’d rather something more personal, he could always come up with something like that instead. Sending the message back, also asking how her lunch went.
We can talk when we meet up. I'm heading back to my temporary quarters now. See you there? She sent back to him, but wanted to make one more stop to pick up and have sent to the ship for her quarters.
‘Of course. See you in a bit, I love you.’ Ending the message relay. Getting up from the desk and setting up a pending one if they went for the swimming. If not he could always cancel it. That should give enough time for her to get back and he could join her.
Once her purchase was made and where it was to be delivered to on the ship she went back to base. As she made her way down the hall of the building, Dean was standing outside her room. "Hi babe, how was your morning?" She gave him a tender kiss then stepped back.
He returned the kiss first, “It was fine, a little productive. Its better now of course that you’re here.”
"Same here" she smiled "although I did have a wonderful lunch with Mardel. I'm so happy she and Daniel are going to have the family they desire." She opened the door to her room. It was more like a stark inexpensive hotel room but it was just a place to stay for a few hours unless Dean had things to do. In that case she would be spending her last night there.
She took her day pack off. " Do you have plans for the rest of the day? I sure you probably have duties to perform before we ship out."
“Well I did message you the two ideas for us to do before tomorrow, love.” Following her in. She could have gotten a better play to make for temp quarters than that, or with him after all. “I’m glad you enjoyed it, I’m sure she did as well. Its always good for you two to spend some girls time.”
She went to the replicator for some mint water. "Can I get you something? I know, but I also know you have responsibilities. I don't want to ever take away from that. However, if you're sure, I would love to make our Atlantis trip." She took a large drink of her water as she had done a lot of walking and was very parched.
“No thank you dear.” Just waiting for her to get done at the replicator. “I appreciate that, and I wouldn’t keep you from things you have to do. For now, I’m not needed for anything. So Atlantis it is.”
She put her glass in the recycler. "Before we leave, I do have a small problem that needs to be taken care of." Teaya walked over to Dean and paused for a moment then slowly looked up at him. "Something is broken and I need you to fix it."
He watched her and there was a curious raise of his eyebrow, looking down to her, “What’s wrong?”
"My lips are broken." She kept a serious look on her face.
“They are? I think I can fix that.” If he was reading her meaning right. Pulling her up in his arms. Keeping his eyes locked on hers, until he leaned in to press his lips to her, passionately. Full of loving emotion.
A soft deep moan passed from her to him. She was being silly but oh my this was what she needed. They had not seen each other since early this morning and she had not realized how much a part of him was imbedded deep in her soul and she needed his nearness almost as much as she needed air. This kiss was needed, more than she had realized. She pulled back from him both panting. "We better stop or we will not make Atlantis" Leaning in to him to catch her breath and regain strength in her legs.
Dean wasn’t really that sure himself what it was about here. It was certainly different. It was in a way, delightful in fact. Delightful, needed, the other half of a whole. Pressing his forehead against hers a moment, “Yes, I believe we can continue this later.”
She straightened up and giggled softly. "I'm fixed for now and on a serious note I do have to make a trip to see the doctor once we are back on board. Nothing overly serious, but it does need to be tended to." Giving him a quick kiss "Shall we go?"
“What we discussed before?” He figured, since they did discuss they hadn’t been using protection. They both did agree that they didn’t want that as of yet, but down the road. “Mmhmm.”
"Something along those lines. I'm late. And I did take care of the birth control after we came back from the attacks when it was safe to go back out again.". They walked out of the room.
“Are you okay? If you took care of it, but you’re late..how is that possible? Maybe we should wait and go have you checked now. I don’t want anything to happen to you, I just, I can’t if that happened. I won’t know what I’d do if that’s my fault.”
"Honey I'm fine, I promise. Mardel checked me, I'm not pregnant. It's a small growth. Nothing dangerous, nothing to worry about. Please, can we go swimming now."
“As long as you are sure. Lets go then and distract from it and enjoy each other.”
"Now that sounds like a plan." She gave him her best smile and slid her hand into his. "I'm excited to do this."
“I am to,” squeezing her hand. He’d have to lead them to one of the transporter relays to get where they needed to go.
"Oh, we doing the nude swim or is there someplace to get a swim suit because it's not like I carry one around just in case."
“I suppose we could do nude, but I wouldn’t recommend it with the depths and the gear.”
" My darling you can be a bit thick at times. I know we aren't swimming nude I was teasing." She gave his hand a playful squeeze.
“I’m sorry. Distraction. No more distraction. Back to just fun.”
"Fun we know how to do."
Once they got to the transporter, they rematerlialized by Gibraltar which was where the place was suppose to have been. At least that’s the current name of the place it was theoretically found. They of course would have gear waiting for them to suit up into. It was picked to have a guide so they were on their own with whatever they were going to do. How they wanted to go about it.
Teaya change into her wet suit and was ready to go. She waited for Dean to let her know the coordinates of where they were to swim to.
Supposedly, the coordinates he put in would take them on a path through some of the most beautiful areas. Particularly the bio-luminescent caves as well.
Teaya squirmed into her air tank with Dean's assistance. "I'm ready when you are."
“I am good to go. You read over the safety requence just incase? Nevermind, that was a stupid question. Whenever, my dear.” Moving over to the edge.
She donned her mask and held up her hand to count on her fingers. She clicked them off. -one, two, three- and in they went.
They did have comms, but doing it that way worked just as well. Bit of a good splash and time to get bearings first. Then they could go ahead and start down. For the moment there wasn’t going to be anything that spectacular.
They swam past some coral beds with beautifully colored fish. They swam a little further and there was a faint glow below them. "Is that where we are headed?"
“It should be.” Kicking a little to kind of float around her for a moment, and taking the lead if she would rather that. So she’d have him as a point of reference.
"Okay, then let's go." They swam closer to the 'glow' in the water. "Dean is that a cave? It looks gorgeous." She kicked hard to push further ahead faster. She was overly excited to get there. That light was so mesmerizing to her.
Dean lifted his arm and looked at the display. “I think so. Supposedly we can go in there and even get out of the water. Go walking through on the way to some hidden paths.”
"Let's do it. I'm so very excited." This world they were sharing not just here but just being together. It was their bubble and she didn't ever want it to end. Yes there were moments of misgiving and there were quirks to work around but she knew in her heart this is what she wanted. Mardel was right, it was just going to take time.
It wouldn’t be to much farther before they did get to a spot to get out at. Doing so first so he could help her up if she needed it.
She followed him through the water till they came to a shelf in the cave to get out. Teaya got out with Dean's help. Taking off her tank and mask. "This is exciting. I can't wait." She stood and gave her love a kiss.
Dean was actually going to keep those on, but they could come back for them when done after all. Taking his off as well, returning the kiss. Alright, well let’s go and obviously we don’t really need light since the walls are doing it for us.”
She followed him as they made their way through a narrow hall that opened into another large room. Stalagmites and stalactites while not overly large, they were still ever present. The center of the room almost bare of them, it almost resembled a ballroom. "Dance?" She held out her hand to him.
“Wow, this is wonderful,” looking around at the room opening. Moving to her and taking her hand. Pulling her into a spin and against him. “I would love to.”
She hummed a time as they swayed and spun around. "This is so beautiful." She laid her head against his chest. "It's a shame we don't have more time." She stopped dancing and pulled back keeping her hand in his. "Let's go see what else we can find."
He wasn’t actually that bad at dancing. Just because of him didn’t mean everyone knew how. He wasn’t as good as she was, but not bad. Lifting her hand to kiss the back of it. “Do lets, and you’re a wonderful dancer.”
"Thank you kind Sir." She gave him a wink and slight curtsey. Walking around the far side of the room to another walkway.
“Wonder what is down this way.” Giving a little look in the walkway a moment then back to her. “I would have thought there would have been more than just one at each ‘junction.’”
"Hmm.,. Well it can't hurt to look." She looked up at him then back down the walk way then back to him.
That actually did come down to another junction. This time it came to what Dean had actually figured. Two directions, one was still well lit while the other was darker the farther it went. “Hmm..which one, my dear?”
"Dark? We have lights. I bet it hasn't been explored much."
“Probably not. Down the rabbit hole we go then, yes?”
She let out an excited squeal. "Yes, we most definitely shall." Their lights were bright but they didn't light every crevice. As they walked down through the dark there was an odd tinkling sound on the floor. Shining the light on the floor she saw something slightly shiny. She bent to pick it up. She turned it over in her hand and looked at it in the light. "Look! It's an old coin. I wonder how old it is?" She held it up to him to look at.
Dean had moved to a different side of the room looking, though the tinkling got his attention. Coming over behind her and looking, “No idea. I was more interested in that actual door over there.”
"What? You found a door? Teaya tucked the coin into the pouch on her utility belt. "Let's go check out what's behind that door." This was just as exciting as being back at his castle and exploring.
“I sure hope that this isn’t some kind of hoax and set up and that goes to some utility tunnel or something. That would kind of suck, and if it is, why aren’t they making money off of it.”
"We won't know till you open that door love. Come on, come on."
“I really have to find more things for you to explore and play with to saite that curiosity. Next I’m thinking some kind of freakish horror slasher killer thing.” Giving a swat to her ass as he moved past her back in the direction of the door.
As his hand made contact she let out a small yip. "You know how to satiate a lot of my curiosity." She purred.
“Well hmm…” Giving a better look. It looked like a huge oak door, about 8 feet tall. Steel binding wraps and rivets in the wraps. “Looks kind of old.”
"That it does." It had a large slide to hold the door shut. Teaya grabbed the handle to slide it back to open the door. "It seems to be stuck. Your turn to try."
“Or rusted maybe.” Moving over to give it a try also. It tried to give way a little bit. Maybe both of them.
"One more time?" The both leaned into it and it gave and the door gave as well sending them both stumbling into the room.
Dean gave a nod and pulled. Giving a look around once they both steadied. The room at the moment was pitch black, save for what little light was coming from the other room and their lights. There were obvious shapes and shadows.
Teaya started towards the light carefully picking her way there. The light was faint but enough to light the room. There were several statues that looked to be made of gold. They were every bit of 12' tall.
Well wasn’t that a bit of a surprise. More than a bit, “Uh...I’m pretty sure..well, I don’t know what to think. Not supposed to be here or found?”
"They're magnificent." Walking over to the nearest one and gently running the tips of her fingers down the front of it.
“I wonder if there are any inscriptions.”
Giving a slight shrug Teaya began walking around the statue looking. She went to the next one looking up at it. Cocking her head sideways, she fished the coin from her pouch. Looking at the coin then back to the statue. "Dean this one is the same as the coin."
Dean shook his head, “This surely can’t actually be a link to Atlantis. How would it just be sitting here this whole time.”
"I'm not sure." Her mouth had a slight twist to it. "I know that have seen this particular face before, I just can't pla…" snapping her fingers "that's it! Dean! These are the 12 gods and goddesses of Greek myths. The coin and the statue are Poseidon. That is his wife Amphitrite." Teaya let out a long soft sigh. "Now that mystery is solved. Shall we move on?"
“Wait what? Let me see that.” If she’d give up the coin so he could look over it a moment. Comparing the two things a moment, “You’re right. Huh...if that really is the case and its not fake, then I think there’s going to be a puzzle here that should unlock a door or hatch or something.”
"I don't think it's fake babe." She kept looking at the statues. Shaking her head slightly. "No, I don't think they are fake. Come, let's see what else we can find. We are going to run out of time."
“We have all the time in the world.” Dean smiled to her.
"I wish we did honey." Teaya held out her hand. "Come, there's lots more to check out."
Dean moved over and took her hand, “Yes, we should.” Smiling, “Lets see if we can find out if there is more and we actually found Atlantis.”
"Maybe not Atlantis love, but maybe remnants? It could be that some of the more valuables were left here for safe keeping." Shrugs softly as they walked out closing the door behind them.
"I'd like to send that coin to Veld to make into a necklace for me."
“I’m sure he would enjoy doing that.”
They walked through the dark hall for the exception of the soft glow of their lights. "Looks like a room ahead, it has the same glow as the opening we came through."
Once they reached the room, it wasn't as large as some of the others they had gone through. Not funny being anything else quite as impressive as the statues they headed back to where they started and swam back.
Dean had booked them a room for the night in Gibralter. In the morning they would return to the ship. This was their last night on Earth for who knew how long.
