Sineade had a little time left before she was supposed to report onboard so she took a quick trip to see her parents. After the events of the past few weeks she figured she should spend at least a little time at home. Her mother was thrilled by the unexpected visit and wanted to pamper her the entire time. Her father kept asking if everything was alright, since he had heard the news about the attacks but that the aggressors had been apprehended. Sineade couldn’t really share much information, mostly because it seemed her father knew more about those events than she did. Sean had been home on leave as well. He’d told the family he was being redeployed off world, but wouldn’t say much more than that.

All-in-all the visit had been nice, even if it was a bit stressful. But then, it was always like that when she visited home. Perhaps that was one of the reasons she had postponed visiting there in the first place. She loved her family, but sometimes they could be a bit much. With her mother’s constant chatter and fluttering about to make Sineade more ‘comfortable’ it was almost a relief when it was time to go.

Sean had to leave as well so he took his leave with a wave as he was transported off to who knew where. Sineade hugged her mother and kissed her cheek, “I’ve got to go now, but I promise to keep in contact regularly.” Her mother nodded and gave her another hug, “I know you will dear. Just remember that we are here if you need us.” “I know, Ma.” Sineade turned to give her farewells to her father and was caught up in a bear hug, “Auch, my wee little girl is off on another grand adventure. Remember that you have a bit of the Fae in ye’. T’will help keep you safe.” Sineade just smiled at her father, “I love you too, Pa. Take care, both of you!” She stepped back from her father and then she stepped onto the transporter pad and beamed back to San Francisco to finish packing what she’d left in the temporary quarters.

Sineade sat down after she finished packing what little she had and picked up her PADD with the latest ‘Engineering Today’ Magazine loaded and ready to be read. She smiled as she saw the front cover with a flashy picture and ‘Is this the next wave in warp’ blazoned across the front. The next thing she knew she was falling on the floor in what appeared to be a cargo bay.
