2,358 words; about a 12 minute read

Mission: Refit and Restock
Location: Earth

The party seemed to be a hit and just what everyone needed. Their guest had long gone and the castle back to normal. Teaya got rather use to Shelly occasionally dropping in and hanging on to her. They only had a week left, hopefully they could find some new last minute adventures to make their own.

Dean was finishing up the last of what needed to be cleaned up and the food left put away before coming along the castle halls to find where Teayana was.

Hearing footsteps she knew to be Dean's softly echoing off the walls she came down the steps and met him as he came around the corner. "Hey you" as she snaked her arms around his waist. "We have a week left, what can we get to?" She had their first week fairly well planned out. She was thrilled he brought her here minus the Mei Lin incident. Outside of that it's been perfect.

“Well hello.” Smiling and kissing her softly. “There’s a lot of things we can get into.” Which he did not mean the obvious that they have been doing behind closed doors. “I just need to think about what. Also, you know we have transporters, it doesn’t have to be all localized around here.”

"Yes, I know dear. I'm going to leave it up to you. Surprise me." She rubbed her hands up and down his back. "Do you need some time to think about it?"

There was a thoughtful look on his face a moment and then a nod, “I believe so. Unless you like haunted cemeteries.”

Giving it some thought. "Not exactly on the top of my to do list. Let's go get some lunch in town and you can tell me about this cemetery and maybe twist my arm." With a quick wink and a soft kiss she stepped back and gave a small laugh. "I take the cemetery will be a night trip?"

“Oh, why not?” Grinning and returning the kiss before she stepped back. “Yes, lunch, and of course it’s going to be at night.”

"I don't know, I guess I never thought about it before. However I suppose it could be a little romantic… maybe." Sliding her hand into his. "Come, we can talk about it over a pint and food."

Dean squeezed her hand softly and smiled, “Well I’m not entirely sure that you would consider a cemetery romantic. You did say what can we get into after all love.” Moving along with her so they could head back into town. The easy way.

"It could be" she said as they were seated at their table. She ordered a pint of their house ale and fish and chips.

He was still just giving a gander over the menu for the moment, but as far as the ale, three of them. “How do you figure?”

"I don't mean romance in the way of roses, wine or a quiet evening in, but in a tragic romance way. Kind of like Romeo and Juliet, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra. One or both wound up dead.”

“Well that’s quite the fancy for a night out. Lets go to a cemetery and wind up dead.” Pursing his lips with almost a chortle.

Closing her eyes and just chuckling at him. "Do you have one in mind?"

“Of which?”

"Dean House, you're not obtuse. You know what I'm talking about. But if you want to play dumb, do you have a cemetary in mind as in where is it?"

“Dracula and Lisa.” Still hadn’t decided on what to get to eat, “That’s fitting.”

"Hmm." The wheels began turning in Teaya's head. A slow smile spread slightly across her lips then dropped. For now she would keep those thoughts to herself.

While she was having her wheels turn, he ordered two mozzie sticks platters, popcorn shrimp, the eight patty heart attack bacon cheeseburger. Oh and a side salad. “I see those wheels.”

"I'm not quite sure what you're talking about dear." She picked up her pint to take a drink, the only thing visible was her laughing green eyes.

“Uh huh...rights.” Shaking his head a little bit letting it go. Well, not letting it go, but not pushing it.

Their food arrived and as usual it looked like they were feeding a party of six rather than just the two of them. The waitress brought Teaya another pint as she had finished her first. Splashing some malt vinegar on her fish and taking a bite. "Mmm" swallowing before speaking, "this is pretty darn good. We have a few hours to burn after we eat, what would you like to do?" She then popped a fry in her mouth.

While he was eating, which of course it was good, he was thinking about where they should go and it came to him. Should be interesting. “Well since we could go with water sports. What about the theoretical location of the lost city of Atlantis?”

Swallowing her food, she blinked twice. "Really?!? I would love that." Taking another bite of her fish, she looked at the fish and then to Dean and giggled a little. "That's a little funny."

Dean bit off half of another cheese stick, “How is that?”

"Atlantis, I'm eating fish. Oh… nevermind" she chuckled and playfully tossed a fry towards him.

The fry was snatched out of the air and stuck in his mouth. “Uh huh...I see. I never really associated that myth with actual fish.”

"Your humor at times is about as dry as the sahara desert at times dear." She reached across the table and took one of his cheese sticks.

“Well if it was wet like the ocean nothing would get done, because of the tears of laughter and joy.” He grinned a bit and did not slap her hand away from his cheese sticks.

Teaya rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I'm about done. I want to leave room for one of those delicious fried apple pies from the bakery."

“We can do that. I’ll finish this up a little faster so we can get going.”

"No rush babe. I was just letting you know I was done. Take your time. Don't need you getting a sick stomach, but then again you wage war on it with every meal. If you didn't eat I would really worry." She them pursed her lips to blow a kiss to him.

Dean pulled the almost childish, though at the same time it wasn’t childish, cliché of ‘catching it’ and putting it in his pocket for later bit. “I love you too.” It was as it always was, just like Kara, his metabolism was high so they had to keep the carbs up. She was right, if he didn’t eat a house there was something wrong.

She watched as he had all but licked the plates. Standing and holding out her hand. "Ready?"

There was a thumb pressed to the padd on the table to pay for it and then he stood up, taking her hand. “I believe so.”

Teaya and Dean walked down the street quietly to the bakery made their purchase and headed to the transporter pad. Stopping to take a brief look at the lovely place before her. "I'm going to miss this. I'm not much of a shopper, but if we lived here I could see myself here at least once or twice a week just to walk around and have coffee or tea." She smiled and turned back in the direction they were walking.
"Thank you for bringing me here and sharing part of your life with me."

“This is where we are going to live, if you want to. You and I together, and you are welcome, Teayana. I couldn’t think of anyone else I would want to share this with.”

As they rounded the corner to the transporter pad Teaya placed both her hands on either side of his face and kissed him deeply.

Well if she was going to do that, that there wasn't a complaint in the world that he could come up with even if he wanted to, slipping his arms around her waist. Bleeding into the kiss and deepening it even more for a moment. Still holding her but breaking it to lean back and look into her eyes. “What was that for?”

"Because I love you."

“As I love you, even if it was this unexpected.”

"Hmm that's putting it mildly. Although my elisi use to say the dates and gods know what they do and don't make mistakes." She caressed his cheek. "Elisi would like you. Now, we have a date with water."

“We have a date with water once I can get that set up. I have not actually done so yet.”

"Oh, so what do you have in mind in the mean time?"

“You really shouldn’t have asked that question.” Wiggling his eyebrows back and forth.

"Do tell my heart, do tell." She leaned his head down for him to whisper if he wanted to.

“I don’t know that I need to, you know full well what I meant, my dear.” While she was that close he kissed her cheek. “Didn’t you want to walk around and actually look?”

Blushing deeply. "We can, but that was not your insinuation and you know it. Now I think I'd rather go home…" She stopped a moment and silently said home in her head then it dawned on her the insinuation he made when he said they would live if she wanted to. It had not fully sunk in till just that moment.
"Dean?"

Dean tilted her head a little bit, “Yes?”

She just shook her head slightly. "Let's go shopping." She gave his hand a playful tug.

“You really like shaking your head. Is that why you continuously want me to give you a neck massage?”

"Is that why you think I want massages?" Said absentmindedly as she looked through the window of a clothing store.

“Well sure, I mean, all that shaking your head is bound to make your neck hurt.” Stifling a chortle.

"A comedian you are not my dear. I see something I want in there. You coming in or staying here?"

“Sure I am, you just don’t have a sense of humor.” Still grinning and moving to open the door for her. Motioning his free hand to the entrance and he’d follow.

Teaya moved through the store to the emerald green top she saw. Touching it. It was made of silk just like she had thought. Taking it down she decided to browse a little more. Hmm... a black leather skirt. Perfect. "I think that will do it." She took her items to the front to pay

“I’m surprised.” Just watching her as she pursued the wares. Moving to follow her to the front.

"At what?" She paid and waited for the girl to bag her purchase.
"Do you think my dagger is done? If so I'd like to pick it up and I want to pay for it. His offer of free is kind, but I would feel better if I paid." They left the store. And started on their way again.

“You didn’t try to dress me up like some kind of preppie college student frat boy.” Giving a thought a moment about how long it had been. “Actually, it should be ready.”

Teaya turned and looked at him. "Why would you think I would try to dress you that way? Glad to see you have faith and trust in me." She started walking towards the blacksmith shop.

“Hell if I know, aren’t women suppose to try and dress their man up the way they think he should be dressing?” Reaching to take her free hand and lift it up to kiss the back of it.

"I know we are new but I'm very observant incase you haven't noticed. I would never try to dress you in anything other than what I know you're comfortable in."

“I should hope so, love.”

It took no time at all to get to the blacksmith shop. She really hoped Veld had her dagger done. She trusted he would get it to her but she would feel much better taking it herself especially since it would contain the blood stone her agidudah had given to her elise.

It was hot as hades once they got to the shop, that would be, because Veld had been working to finish not only her Dagger, but Dean’s unique weapon. While they were done, the compsoition of the building to keep the heat of the forge did not leave anything or cooling down at a fast pace. It had to be that way for things to be done traditionally. “Ver you are my friends! Come come. I have my best items done to date! Just for you!”

Teaya smiled at Veld. "Hello my friend" giving him a hug. Him being a bit sooty did not matter to her. He had grown on her and she liked him very much. "I can't wait to see what you have done."

“Come, come.” Motioning to the two of them into the back. Dean’s was still cooling down, even after being put in the ‘water’ bath. Taeyana’s however was finished, polished and ready. “There you are.”

Teaya took the dagger in her hands. She stared at it in disbelief. It was stunning the etching of the phoenix was gorgeous and the small stone was placed in the chest of the phoenix as if we're it's heart. She was absolutely stunned. Looking at Veld then back to the dagger. Words of gratitude had escaped her for the moment. She was silent and only a few tears fell. Wiping them away quickly.
"Veld… I have… I'm …" Teaya threw her arms around him in gratitude. "Thank you" said softly. Kissing his cheek then stepping back. "It's gorgeous."

“You are wery welcome.” Veld returned the hug and stepped back as well.
