Mission: Ghost Hunting Season
Crew,
We are starting our joint sim this week. So we are simming two days, Sunday night and Monday Night. Sunday, we are going to be meeting up with the Excelsior on the dark side of the second moon. Both ships helmsmen will get to do some fancy flying as they have to get through an large asteroid field without disturbing any of the asteroids. We don't want to alert the syndicate we are there and they don't scan the asteroid field unless the asteroids are disturbed. That is how we are going to "sneak in the back door".
On this moon is a secret base created by Commodore Connor back when she first became a Starfleet officer to help her get other Orions off of the planet and away so the syndicate couldn't get them and didn't know they were gone. This base has a power source that is shielded using trace amounts of minerals that are too dense for scans to get through but not enough to want to mine the moon for them. The rest of the base has no power, but has alternatives in place so it isn't too primitive. Transporters, a small two bed sickbay, replicators, and scanners are in this shielded area with wooden doors leading to a small three foot buffer zone and another wooden door to get out of and both doors have handles you have to manually open. You get the food from the replicators and take it to the tables in the common area to eat. The common area has comfortable chairs and couches to sit on as well as. The rest of that side is sleeping rooms and a bathing/toilet area. The toilets are gravity operated and the waste is carried to space. The sleeping rooms are cubby areas with privacy doors and soft, comfortable beds and a single chest for clothing and bedding. A team from the Aldrin and the Excel will be sent to this base as the backup to the away teams on the planet. Each team will have to swallow a pellet of some kind that can be traced through scans if it's known but ignored otherwise with no power signatures. The team on the moon will keep a lock on those traces and be able to watch from the base, to make sure things are going okay. The most danger the team on the moon will be in is boredom.
The away teams on the planet will be going to two different entrances to the syndicate base. Each will have an Orion with them who is also a healer. Each team will have had at least one practice run through the holodeck to at least get somewhat familiar with the jungles on Orion and what they will be facing. Neither team can take anything that has a power signature like phasers, communicators, tricorders/scanners, etc. Both will be as disguised as possible and will be making their way through the jungle to the base. So both teams will need to be careful and do the best they can to not raise the alert until they have the prisoners safe and then they can make as much noise as possible, once the vulnerable ones are away. But if we need or want to use the moon base again, we have to get out of there quietly and make the noise at the front door, going around to Orion prime and making the noise there. We will see how long it takes to make it.
On Sunday, those on the Aldrin will use @. The away teams should use #, both nights and 1 or 2 for which away team they are part of. Away team 1 will be Larie's and the Excelsior. Away Team 2 will be Mardel's and the Aldrin. For the Aldrin, the moonbase away team will be Sean and Noir. The planet away team will be Mardel, Teaya, and Pyle. For the Excel, the away team for the moonbase will be Wolfe and Bones and the Away team for the planet will be Larie, Sherlock, Lobren, Kaylia, One, and Lee.
