Sim Summaries:
USS Aldrin:
We have entered into the sector of Starbase 395 and things started to
happen. First it was items going missing, and then as we got close to
the Starbase, people. We received a distress call from the Starbase
as the entire command staff of the Starbase had vanished. All ships
who had passed through were locked down to the Starbase as they were
also having the same problems. Two tachyon nets have been deployed
and still people are vanishing.
The most recent vanishings are Command Sineade Darnell, Chief Engineer
and Commodore Mardel Shayron-Connor. We have called a red alert as
we attempt to find out what is happening.
Those who have vanish have found themselves in someplace that really
has no words to describe it, but it’s like a combination of feudal
Europe, a Fantasy game, and a horror movie. Stay tuned to see what
happens next.

USS Columbia:
Preparing to depart from Tsenkethi space, the Columbia and the
Excelsior detected a micro-anomaly. Investigation by a probe revealed
a void of unknown size, accelerated in time, into which vessels were
being pulled. One such ship was the U.S.S Apollo, on a deep space
exploration mission in the beta quadrant.
Meanwhile, a still anxious Lola kept warning of danger, just before
the anomaly began to rapidly expand. Pushing the Columbia out of
danger, Lola was pulled in, leading the Columbia to go in after her.
Submitted by Commander Waters
USS Excelsior:
After having defeated the M-5 network, in the alternate universe,
the XL returned to find the Columbia requiring further assistance with
some tricky negotiations between two factions of the Tzenkethi
Coalition. With that completed, the crew was granted shore leave on
the vacation planet of Risa. Not surprisingly, even more adventures,
were awaiting more members of the crew there.
Respectfully submitted,
Commodore Michael Holden
USS Hermes:
No Report Received
USS Independence:
Out in the Delta Quadrant, the Indy crew encountered its own version
of M-5-controlled ships. With the assistance, from the USS Excelsior,
and the USS [NAME REDACTED], McMahon's crew was able to shut down the
M-5 network, and the ultimate threat to the Delta Quadrant. They, then
returned to Far Reach Station, for repairs and recreation.
Respectfully submitted,

USS Odyssey:
StarDate 77371.13
Gamma Station 1 Commander Baldwin contacted the USS Odyssey, assigning
them to a critical mission. Their destination is the Vile system,
located near Starbase 514, where they will deliver an "Ark load" of
flora and fauna for the initial colonization of Vile I. This "Ark
load" consisted of portable transporter buffers that contained the
patterns of the items to be transported to the planet. The buffers
filled every nook and cranny of the Odyssey.
The Odyssey traveled through the Transwarp tunnel successfully, and
arrived at their destination of Vile I. After establishing standard
orbit, Calvin had Lt Thelim scan everyone, including the Lt himself,
to verify that their temporal signatures were correct. Once this was
completed, Lt Benson's scans of the planet revealed that there were no
humanoid life forms on the surface of the planet, but there were life
forms near the surface. Topographical scans indicated that the
planet's surface did not match Starfleet records completely, but had a
.00327% variance.
An unusual "heartbeat" was detectable at varying locations. Lt Okieek
detected a faint incoherent telepathic message coming from the planet.
Lt Thelim analyzed the scans to determine there was a sap-like
substance flowing between the mounds along the branches that
intertwined between the mounds. While Lt Benson was monitoring the
planet's surface, one of the mounds partially detached itself from the
planet's surface. She raised the shields in the event this was a
hostile event. After several attempts to communicate with the unknown
life forms, Pe'el was able to send telepathic communications toward
the planet, and Okieek was able to receive communications. Pe'el
nodded to Calvin to acknowledge his orders, then and focused on the
planet's surface. 'We intend no harm. We are exploring'.

Captain, USS Odyssey
USS Penumbra:
The *Penumbra* is still at Tepesi 2, deep in the territory of the
Holy Order of the Kinshaya. The ship itself is actually on the
ground in a large field just south of a space port, which is itself
on the southern fringe of a large city. Other than some heavy
equipment operated by Marines and some of the Seabees from Starfleet
Engineering, all other emergency response to the terrorist attack by
the extremist group known as "the Purity Faction" has been taken
over by the local Kinshayan military. All other Starfleet personnel
has regrouped aboard the *Penumbra* and a Staff Meeting was called
to discuss future activities. Bishop Yazgrom, commanding officer of
the sphere-ship *Yeffre*, and Archbishop Mulraney, military governor
of Tepesi 2, were invited to that meeting.
The Archbishop expressed his gratitude to the Penumbra crew for
their assistance, and then said "You are now asked to leave as soon
as possible." It didn't sound like a request. Whether the Commodore
accedes to this demand remains to be seen!

USS Roddenberry:

The ship and crew were welcomed to a planet that was distinctly wild
west in theme it was clear to the first contact party what they had
stepped into with horses and men dressed like cowboys. Unfortunately,
they noticed something a little off. There were no young women. Old
women, and children, yes, but no young women.
With this knowledge the team had decided to leave and return later but
as they beamed out one of the cowboys Parker reached out to grab at
Muffy trying to prevent her from leaving. Ens. Jericho punches the man
in the nose gaining Muffy's release. Though once they returned to the
ship Muffy's shock at someone trying to grab and and pull her out of
the transport beam was short lived as she loses conciousness and is
rushed to the wellness center.
LtCmdr. Toulaine the Doctor in charge of Muffy while examining Muffy
finds a red rash spreading along the young woman's arm from where
Parker had grabbed her, decided to put her into cryo until she had
answers. This was also done to protect Muffy from a possible fatal
unknown virus.

Starbase Everest:
The starbase crew was enjoying some quiet time, until a Catonian
merchant shipper was rescued from his over-worked ship, as he was
fleeing from an "unknown" pursuer. This "pursuer," was learned to be
Captain Kitor, of a Klingon bird-of-prey, who was following the
merchant shipper, Birch Tekwa, to get back his disruptor, which was
allegedly lost in a card game. Also, repeated calls to the now-missing
Captain Darz, Dr. Ailana Styles and Meila Styles, have gone
unanswered. Commander Styles must, now, deal with starbase matters,
and try to determine what happened to the captain, and his wife. Also,
Lt. Tiger Kesiun is continuing to deal with personal demons, in
relation to her sister, Lt. Flower Sheme.

Starfleet Academy:
News from Starfleet Academy!
What are the Cadets up too?
The cadets have completed their mission on Mars. The new generator is
in place, and the new, protective, shelter has almost been erected.
This will be considered their squadron project, for this academic
year. The other squadrons have, also, been assigned projects, but thus
far, Gold Squadron is maintaining a lead in the points category. Two
hundred points are being awarded to the Gold Squad for completion of
the Martian mission. The Colony power system saw instant relief, as
the generator was brought to full power.
There has been an incident, onboard the Expedition, though. It
seemed there was a release of a chemical, in the science lab, which
rendered two cadets, Reynolds and Azule, incapacitated with severe
reactions.
After thruty minutes Cadet Azule’s status remains unchanged, as goes
for Cadet Reynolds. The science lab has been declared free, and clear,
of all toxins. After an investigation it was determined that Cadet
Reynolds had decided to experiment on two substances, combining them
into what became a highly toxic substance.
One hundred points are being surrendered by Cadet Reynolds, of
Gold Squadron, due to his reckless experimentation with some dangerous
chemicals. Fifty points, will be awarded to Cadet Rohan Fyrstk, for
being the cadet responsible for determining the chemicals. Fifty
points are, also, being awarded to Cadet Gibbs, for his commanding of
the entire mission. Gold Squadron remains out in front of the other
squads.
Time moves on. It is the beginning of May, with senior cadets looking
forward to their upcoming graduation. Both, Cadet Reynolds and Cadet
Azule, have recovered fully, from their ordeal. Cadets will be going
about their regular class schedule. In one such class several cadets
are tasked with diagnosing and repairing phasers that have been
‘damamged’ in some way. This is an important lesson for cadets as they
will have to know when their weapons are malfunctioning, especially
for those who are entering the security department.

Thoughts and Feelings:
Narrated By: Katarina Hawke (Nine of Twelve)
Sometimes I think being Borg was easier, granted it meant that you
were hated. This, however, was because you were forcing people to join
into the collect. Now that I am not longer connected to the collective
though I can't imagine wanting to return on my own and the thought of
being forced back into the collective scares the hell out of me. I
have nightmares about my time in the collective, however, short my
time was. I was still a child when my parents well a teen but not old
enough to be an active drone. My parents and I were searching for my
brother. I don't remember them very well even though I was 12.
I had been put into a maturation chamber to finish my growing. by this
time most of my human life was wiped away and all I knew was the
collective. I was 18 when I came out. For two years I worked for the
borg helping to assimilate individuals into the collective and working
as a medic repairing drones organic components if I needed to or
modifying the new drones for their required job in the collective. I
was nine of twelve. We were tasked with finding Omega particles by the
queen herself.
When my cube had crash landed on a frozen wasteland half burried in
the ice and snow very few of us survived. Those that did had been cut
off from the collective, they had been attached longer than I had and
slowly froze to death in the cold. I, however, had managed to survive
for a year before my brother's ship the Penumbra found me.
I had resisted. I wish I had still resisted being human sometimes.
Feelings are so much harder when you actually form an attachment to
someone. My brother was an easy attachment to form because I had
memories of him start to crop up. I fought hard to keep my designation
rather than the name that Denovan had called me. Eventually, I came to
accept the name and even cherish it because Den affectionately calls
me Kat now that I've accepted my name. I am Katarina Hawke.
But, sometimes, more so after meeting and forming a connection - or
what I thought was a connection with MGySgt Derek Hines - I wish I
could go back to not feeling so much, like when I was a borg. Derek
confuses me. I liked what we had and thought he had as well, but that
image was shattered when he just stopped talking to me or even
acknowledging me unless we're on a mission. I don't know what happened
or why, but it's affecting my job, my everyday life. I just want to
turn the feelings off. the pain off. but I can't. Unfortunately, I'm
not borg anymore. I can't just reclaim being nine of twelve, I am
Katarina Hawke and I have to learn to survive or I'll be lost in a
wave of emotions that I can't control...

After our mission on the planet where we recovered the
tech that we came for, we're on course for Outpost 395 now. As soon as
we submitted our reports for the mission, I was given the assignment
to run the fuel consumption report, which to my understanding, is run
roughly once a month on a starship. Since we haven't even been out for
a few weeks, I ran what data was available at this point in our
journey.
Once the report was complete, I took the report to
Commander Darnell. I had at least five different other things on what
I call my list of things to do throughout the rest of the week or even
the rest of the day but I asked the Chief anyway if there was anything
else she wanted me to do. She told me to go to the primary holosystem
array and check to see if it needs recalibration. So I went to
holodeck four to start my work. Fortunately, there was no one inside
using it so I activated the arch and removed the panel below the
monitor screen, checking the panel with my tricorder. End Log.

I am still trying to wrap my head around what the doctor told me. And
I still need to speak to Mardel. I was both shocked and honored to be
given a promotion to Commander and made the Second officer. Although I
would prefer to keep to engineering, I now have to spend some time on
the bridge as well.
I should talk to my brother too. After all, I am failry sure he will
end up helping me with his nieces or nephews, or both. With triplets
it’s possible there could be different genders. There is just so much
to plan for. I’ll need to get a message home as well, although I am
not thrilled about it. With Tholan gone I am fairly sure my Father
will be very upset. I just hope I can explain that it wasn’t that we
broke up, exactly, but that duty took him away.
I miss him so much. I will try to teach his children all about their
other homeworld. But it would be hard to explain a lot, about their
father and his family. I just don’t know any of that, and I don’t
think there will be any way to learn it. I’ll just have to do the best
I can, and tell them about Andoria. Maybe I will be able to bring them
there one day. Maybe Tholan will welcome his children.
I am thinking I need to start making arrangements in engineering for
what I am guessing will be a difficult situation. I’ve seen other
women during their pregnancies not being able to move very well. And
fitting into access hatches for repairs might be a bit difficult. I
hate to make my engineers do work that I could have done. Although, I
guess that’s part of being the chief. Letting others work, and
providing them with opportunities to increase their skills. I will
probably need to step back anyway, with the required bridge duty
shifts.
I really need to rest. It is almost 0300 and I should have been asleep
hours ago. I’m tired, but I can’t seem to shut my brain off with all
the issues I keep thinking of. I even wonder if this log is going to
make any sense when I read it later. But I will try to get some sleep.

JDL: Commander Styles and Lt. Kesiun
"I... don't know what to do," had been Lt. Tiger Kesiun's
response, when Commander Malachi Styles had remarked about her
performance, in regards to Birch Tekwa. She still stood by the
viewport, looking out at the stars.
"What to do about, exactly, what?" Styles asked the felinoid science
officer.
"Let me ask you something sir. How do you separate your duties
and family? " Tiger asked as her tail twitched unsure of herself
again.
Styles remained in the captain's desk chair, looking over at
Tiger. He leaned back, placing his elbows on each of the arm rests,
and steepled his fingers together. "I will be honest, with you,
tiger, and tell you it is not easy. As you know, I have my own...
family concerns going, right now, but because part of those concerns
deal with the commander, of this starbase, I have no choice but to try
and set those concerns aside, and do what requires being done, right
here."
Tiger looked over to her commanding officer, "And my concerns are
also on a family member who was part of a mission that she can't even
confide in me about. And I can't get anymore information except the
story that the Borg attacked her ship." She meowed seriously.
Styles gave her an understanding nod. "So, what do you suppose
you will do, if you do not find out the real information, concerning
her last mission?"
"I don't know what I will do. I take it that you got no further
details from your father? " she asked.
"I did learn more about that mission," Styles confided. "Not from my
father, but from Command, itself. And, the only reason I have this
information, is I am, currently, in command of the starbase. The
details are highly classified, which I, personally, do not agree with,
but it is not my call. Unfortunately, I cannot share those details
with you, just yet." He leaned forward, again. "Let me ask you, do you
think Flower's issues deal with the mission, in particular, or her
performance during that mission?"
"I think she was shaken to her core, also she had a nightmare
about her actions... Everyone me included called her a failure and a
joke to starfleet "
"And, given that information, what do you think you can do, for
her?" Styles asked.
"Don't you think I have already tried to help her deal with this
nightmare? Even Kale tried to help her get some confidence back. She
did smile when she saw my boys, but I know that it was a forced
smile. I know my sister and who visited us wasn't her." Tiger looked
outside again
"I am certain you tried your best, with your sister," Styles
noted. "What more do you believe you can do for her?"
"I don't know Malachi. I really don't know. " Tiger admitted.
"At this point," Styles said, "I am going to say that it is for Flower
to figure out. It sounds cold, I am sure, but I cannot have your
attentions divided, as they are, and still depend on you, as my chief
science officer. You have to figure out a way to deal with it, whether
it be you taking leave, or seeking professional advice from one of our
counselors."
"I guess I could talk with a counselor after my shift, or should
I do that now? And as I asked you earlier, how can I serve you the
best you expect from your apprentice, " Tiger purred with a hint of
mischief in her eyes.
"You can serve me, the best, by staying focused on your duty,"
Styles stated. "If that means you have to talk to a counselor, now,
then so be it. If it means you need to take some time off to get your
head straight, or even to try opening communications with your sister,
then I will grant you that, but make no mistake, Tiger... " He pointed
to the doors leading out to C&C proper. "... out there, I need focused
officers."
Tiger nodded, "Maybe now would be wise. That way I can hope to
become focused again.
Malachi, again, gave her a nod. "Just let Kale know what you are
doing. Is there anything else you would like to add?"
"Yes, I am sorry for my actions against my fellow Catonian. "
"It will, probably, be MR. Tekwa that should hear that," Styles
noted. "Alright, tiger, you are dismissed."
Tiger walked to the doors and exited back into c&c.

JPL: Dr. (Bones) Harris (Excelsior CMO) & Dr. Fyrstk (Columbia CMO)
Dr. Noah Fyrstk looked over to Commander Sierra Gar, who was,
once again, resting, in the Columbia's sickbay. Her... friend(?),
Eliza Tull was at her bedside. Noah decided he would let them have
alone time, some more. He turned to Dr. Stacey (Bones) Harris.
"So," Fyrstk started, "does the famous Bones Harris get hungry?"
Bones looked up from the PADD she was reading and smiled. “Noah.
Sorry. I didn’t hear you come back in. I was engrossed in reading your
medical plan.” She put the PADD down and crossed her arms with a grin.
“Impressive. What you did. With her. And your continued plan. You, my
good sir, are almost as good as me. Almost.” She winked.
This brought an easy smile to the Columbia's CMO. It might have
looked strange, on a man with obvious Vulcanoid features, but Bones
could have, already, guessed he wasn't Vulcan.
"Ah'll definitely have to trah harder," he replied. "So, to the
original question, would you enjoy a bahte to eat? Ah think Commander
Gar will be in good hands, what with two head nurses looking over
her."
Bones was hungry. She could admit that to herself. And not just
for food. But the commander came first. She looked over to Gar who
seemed to be resting comfortably, and Eliza who was holding her hand
and also looked content. So she stepped up and gave a closer look at
all the monitors and vitals. Then she did an old fashion check
herself with a stethoscope. Satisfied that everything was ok, she
squeezed Eliza’s shoulder and turned back to Noah. “You got hot dogs
on this rust bucket?”
"Hot dogs?" Noah asked, with a smile. "Ah definitely think we can
fahnd something lahke that." He tilted his head toward the exit.
"This way, Bones."
With one last look at her patient, Bones followed the Columbia
CMO. On her way out she handed her stethoscope to C’Brak and
whispered, “don’t wait up.”
Noah took Bones to the ship's lounge. He led her to a table, then
slid her chair in, under her, as she sat down. He then sat down across
from her.
"How do you lahke your dogs?" he asked. "Ah usually just have
mustard and onions on mahne."
Bones smiled at his southern hospitality. “Two dogs in one bun with
ketchup and onions, please.”
"Y'all are one of those people, eh?" Fyrstk quipped. "What's your
poison?"
Ah. So here we are. This is the part she hated. Dating was hard
when one wasn’t drinking. “Um, I’ll just have an Altair water with
lemon. You know, in case Commander Gar needs me.”
"Ah, totally, get it," the other physician said, easily. He
flagged the bartender, then put in their order, ordering two dogs, for
himself, two dogs on a single bun, and two Altair waters. The man
nodded and walked away to get their order. Noah looked back to Bones.
"Ah couldn't help but notice the kids, who came to see you. Ah'm
pretty sure the green-skinned boy, wasn't yours, but the two smaller
ones?"
Bones smiled. “Yes. My twins. I’m surprised they left quietly. They
are usually much louder.” She chuckled. “George and Gracie are 4 and a
half. I divorced their father about 6 months ago…but we’ve been
separated for much longer. Since you’ve heard of me, you probably have
heard of him; Joshua Trellis. Poster boy for Starfleet Intelligence.
How about you? Any baggage?”
"The only baggage, Ah have," Noah admitted, "is that Ah'm in mah
fifties, still a single man, and never had a serious relationship. Ah
guess, spending two decades thirty-thousand lahght years from home, on
a ship with a combahned Federation-Romulan crew, mahght do that to
you."
Bones leaned in closer and grinned mischievously, “a sexy middleaged man with no baggage, a good job, southern charm, adorable
ears…and I have no competition? Well damn, this is my lucky day!”
"Well, when you put it lahke that," Noah said, a glint of
mischief in his eyes, "it makes one wonder who is actually the lucky
one."
The bartender returned with the food order. He placed the two dogs and
one bun, in front of Bones, and the other two in front of Noah. He
placed a tray with condiments on the table, as well, then the two
drinks. Noah reached over and put ketchup and onions on Bones' hot
dogs.
"Is that sufficient?" he asked her.
Bones smiled. “That’s perfect. Thank you. Tonight is just what
the doctor ordered. I’m having a great time.” She smiled again and
took a healthy bite of her hot dogs.
"As am Ah," Noah admitted. He found the other CMO, very easy to
be around.
The two chatted all through their meal. They talked about their
time aboard their respective starships. Noah, even, admitted to some
of his more embarrassing cases.
Bones chuckled. “That’s a good one. I didn’t know the beta quadrant
could be so interesting.” She finished her water and looked at her
chrono. “Wow. We’ve been here 2 hours. I really should get back to
check on the commander. “
"Well, seeing as y'all are such a dedicated doctor," Fyrstk said,
humor in his voice, "Ah will fahnd it in mah heart, to forgive you for
violating hot dogs." He chuckled and rose.
Bones also stood. “If the commander is feeling up to it, we may
leave tomorrow in the shuttle. I certainly hope that this isn’t good
bye, though. Maybe you’ll stick around this quadrant for awhile.”
"Ah don't think Ah have much choice, in the matter," Noah said,
as they walked out. "Mah momma would track me down, on any ship that
would dare take me out of the quadrant. Plus... " He gently nudged
Bones, as they entered the turbo-lift. " ...Ah think Ah am going to
enjoy being... 'back in town.'"
Bones lifted her eyebrow as the lift started to move. They were
the only ones in it. She reached under a little metal panel on the
wall. “Now on my ship, twisting this little switch right here stops
the lift.” As the lift stopped, she turned to him and licked her lips.
“Now, on my ship, we have 90 seconds before the bridge is notified of
a stuck turbo lift. So doctor, you have a minute and a half. What are
you gonna do with all that time?”
The other physician did not hesitate. He turned toward Bones and
pushed her, somewhat urgently, against the back wall. His lips met
hers, and there was no mistaking the passion.

It Doesn't Fit!
Dean had already left for his morning duties. Teaya lounged a little
longer in her night clothes to clean up from breakfast and to spend a
little extra time with Apollo. Her morning duties were light and
almost non-existent for a change so she had decided to be a little
more domestic. She was already missing their time on Earth at the
cabin. Some of the memories even made her blush.
Finishing up her tea, she decided it was time to get ready for her
day. Getting in the shower and washing she noticed what seemed to be
an overnight change to her body. It was almost her moon time, she
shrugged it off. Heading to her bedroom in her robe she pulled out a
clean uniform. "What the heck? How is this not fitting?" She mumbled
to herself. She tried another uniform and when that one didn't fit she
threw it on the bed. "Dammit! Casual it is and a trip to the infirmary
I suppose." She didn't think she had missed her birth control because
she and Dean had agreed to wait till Apollo was two before attempting
to trying to get pregnant again.

I have only been on this planet for a few minutes already. I want to
leave and kick the dust of it off of my boots. I don’t believe that I
am over reacting either and I’m glad that Muffy has finally started to
pick up on what I have already learned.
First of all, there are only men on these streets and they ignore us,
the women, like they were ignoring if an elephant were to come
charging down the middle of the street. Even though I don’t
particularly like Muffy, the way they treated her is so wrong on so
many levels that it doesn’t need mentioning, however I am not sure the
males in the group have noticed.
Secondly, the scans I’m taking. There are no women anywhere in the
range of my scanner of child bearing age, in fact there are no women
of any age in the area of my scanner. Men of all ages, yes; women,
not one. I don’t know why this is. I haven’t found any radiation yet
but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. I’m hoping that Muffy might
find it.
And Lastly, the way this man, this Parker, looked both myself and
Muffy over from head to toe. It was fast and I am sure that no one
else noticed. Muffy was too busy admiring the horse to notice. It
looked like he was sizing us up for something, not sure what.
I just want to go on record as saying that even the blue of my skin is
crawling and wanting to get away from here. I am hoping that my
silent signals and messages to the ship are being noticed and taken to
heart. I feel we are in extreme danger here and I don’t want to
remain here, period.

1 (14 oz) Can sweetened condensed milk
2 T. unsalted butter, plus more for greasing of hands during rolling
if mixture gets too sticky
1/3 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
Rolling mixtures, such as cinnamon, espresso powder, cinnamon/sugar
mix, cocoa powder, dried fruit powder, sprinkles, chopped nuts, etc.
Instructions:
In a small sauce pan, combine the condensed milk and butter. Cook
over medium-low heat until the butter has completely melted, then stir
in the cocoa powder. Continue to cook until the mixture has
noticeably thickened and has started to pull away from the sides of
the pan, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to a large
plate. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
When you are ready to finish the truffles, set out several small bowls
with your desired rolling mixture. Using a spoon, scoop out about a
tablespoon of the chilled mixture and quickly roll into a ball between
your hands, greasing your hands with extra butter if needed. Roll in
the rolling mixture and set aside. Continue until all the mixture is
used up. In warmer weather, the finished truffles may benefit from
additional chilling time to help them hold their shape.
