Mission: Where No One Has Gone Before
Mardel looked through the report from Starfleet of the war games debriefing. She sighed as she read it and put the individual recommendations into the right person's schedule. Teaya was not going to be happy, she had a very busy schedule. The most important was commendations for Lt Morgan Drysdale and Lt Sineade Darnell, for their quick thinking and coming up with new ways of dealing with things under pressure. Then there was the report on Flower and Mardel sighed softly. The recommendations for Lt Sheme was intensive counseling for avoidance issues that would cause her to freeze again as well as the physical therapy for healthy distractions. If, for whatever reason, Lt Sheme didn't or wouldn't get the help she needed, then Starfleet recommended she be given a medical discharge and sent home to get the help she needed from her family. Mardel didn't want that. She knew that Sheme was a very good officer and did her job well. So what, she had some hang ups, who didn't? But she understood Starfleet's position, in a life and death situation, the captain needed to be able to count on the entire crew and can't take the time to divert time and energy on a crewmember who was having a break down. She firmly decided that she would personally make sure that Sheme went to counseling for now, she did NOT want to lose her chief tactical officer.
Finishing up the reports and then checking the new assignment, Mardel sighed. "Well, it looks like we are back in business. Let's prove that we are the best." She said to herself and then logged out of her office and went home to spend some time with Daniel.
