Teaya moved around the kitchen humming as she fixed supper for her and Dean. The steak was close to being done, the rice was cooking, salad was done and fresh tea made. Tonight they would discuss and hopefully settle on a name for their little bundle.
She knew she didn’t have to keep doing that. He was perfectly capable of cooking after all. Though Dean wasn’t exactly going to complain. He was in ear shot and could hear her while looking over some reports.
With the steaks resting, herbed butter melting over the steaks she checked the flavor of the wild rice, needing to throw in just a pinch of salt. "Honey, supper is ready" she called to him as she plated their food.
Stops what he’s doing and sets the PADD down. No work during dinner. Getting up and coming over to her. Giving her a kiss, looking to the table. “Looks and smells good baby.”
Returning his kiss, "good, sit and eat before it gets cold." Teaya took her seat and began cutting her steak. A mixture of steak and salad pierced by her fork, she popped in her mouth. "Mmm" was all that came as she chewed her food. She swallowed, "What are you working on?"
“Mmm...that is really good.” Of course not sitting until she did, and digging into the food also. “Oh? Me. Something I shouldn’t be doing. It’s nothing to worry about though, Darlin.”
"Honey, any time you're doing something you shouldn't, there's reason to worry." She gave a small chuckle. "On a more serious note, I was wondering if you would like to finish our conversation from this morning. I mean we have four more months to decide, but I thought maybe this could be one more thing to check off our list." Teaya dug back into her supper.
“Just why is there reason to worry?” He tilted his head a little. Letting that slide off to the other. “So you want to talk about names, right?”
Teaya just let the first question hang where he left it, in the air between them. "Mhm I do. Have.you given it any thought?"
“Probably to many, I think.”
A small snort escaped, she quickly covered her mouth and blasted a soft pink. "Ehem… how can it be to many and that's not a very helpful answer love." Taking the last bite of her food, she shoved the rest towards Dean.
“What?” Looking at the reaction. Also to the food. If she was sure. “It just can be many?”
Folding the making she.had over her belly since she didn't have much of a lap these days. " I can see this is going to go no where fast. Why don't you think about giving it some serious thought and for now we will just table the subject." Teaya stood and began clearing the dishes from the table.
“Celeste, and Apollo.”
Teaya leaned forward to set the dishes in the sink. She went back to the table and sat in her chair. "Sweetheart, Celeste is typically a female's name and we are having a son. I can toss Apollo into the proverbial hat of names for him." She took a drink of her tea. "I was thinking Mathew Blade or Todd Andrew." She drew small circles on the back of Dean's hand with the nail of her index finger with her chin rested on her other hand.
“Doesn’t mean we can use that for later, baby.” Giving a sigh a moment. Looking at his hand a little, thinking about the two names.
"Oh, it's a lovely name, dear, just not for a boy. I also was thinking Veld if he wanted could be his godfather. Something else to think about or just skip it altogether." Drinking the last of her tea then thoughtfully chewed on her bottom lip.
Reaching up he gave a bit of thought, “What about..David Blade? As for Veld, I’m fine with that, but we need a God Mother also.”
"Hmm… Apollo Blade? Why does this have to be so hard? So many names. I wanted to use Blade because it reminded me so much of Veld."
Dean flipped his hand so he could properly take hers, and lace their fingers, “I don’t know. We can compromise with that though. Apollo Blade.”
"It does kind of just roll off the tongue doesn't it." Enjoying the warmth of his hand intertwined with hers.
“You may not like my meaning for Apollo though once I explain it.”
"Oh?" She rubbed her thumb across the side of his hand.
He nodded a little bit, “It’s not from mythology. Nor is it from that old show. It’s actually a homage to the Apollo 13 flight. Regardless of it’s failure, it still persevered and got home and paved the way for future original exploration. A grand achievement. Just like our son will do great things.”
"Honey, why on earth would you think I could or would not appreciate your reason? I think it's a good reason. Hmm…" giving a soft, thoughtful sigh. "I like it!"
“Not everyone may like it because of the sad part of what happened with it, regardless of it coming home.”
"We will teach our son the history when he is old enough. In the meantime we have a nursery to finish." She smiled sweetly at her husband. She was content with their choice regardless if anyone else liked it. It was their child, their choice. "We should call Veld to see if he will do us the honor and be our son's godfather. Help me clean up first please."
Raises an eyebrow, “So he’s going to grow up to impale peoples heads on pikes?”
She stopped in her tracks and just looked at Dean. "Seriously honey, I sometimes worry about your line of thinking." Shaking her head she went back to clearing the dinner table.
“What’s wrong with my line of thinking, Darling?” giving her a little bit of a smirk, helping her.
Once they finished Teaya excused herself to the bathroom. "Call Veld and I'll be out momentarily" she said before closing the door.
Dean was a little curious why she actually was going with that, but okay. He went to sit down at the desk and open up the call.
After a few minutes it was answered. There was some female giggling in the background and then hushed. Veld settled down in view. “Hey Dean. I wasn’t expecting a call.”
There was a smirk given, “I kind of figured that from the sound of it.”
Once she finished voiding she washed her hands then made sure she was presentable before seeing Veld. A few loose strands of hair tucked into place before she walked out.
"Veld, hello my dear friend" she smiled at him sweetly.
“Hello, Teayana. I see you’re doing well. It’s good to see both of you.”
"Getting as big as this ship is what I'm doing" Teaya smoothed her top over her belly.
“I don’t see it.” Veld gave a shrug. “So what do I owe the pleasure again?”
"First, we wanted to see how you were doing, it's been a little while since we talked and second, we were wondering if you would honor us by agreeing to be our son's godfather." She remembered they hadn't even told him yet that she and Dean were having a son.
“I’m alright. And of cou…” he paused for a moment, “Wait, what? Did you say son? Well congratulations, I would be honored to, yes.”
Teaya clapped her hands together "Fantastic! We thought about naming him Apollo Blade." Teaya smiled back at the big man in the view screen whom she came to love dearly as an uncle.
“Apollo Blade? Let me guess, you came up with Blade didn’t you, Dean?”
“Why would you think that?”
"Actually I did. I was hoping you would say yes. As Blade was my way of honoring you. Do you think it's lame?"
“See, she did. I went with Apollo because of the meaning behind it. And I thought it was nice as it fits with Blade well.” Dean smiled.
“I see, well thank you, Teay..and I think I get the meaning behind it. That’s a strong, really good name.”
Teaya let a small internal sigh of relief as she smiled. "Good then that's settled. Oh, and he is due around the first week of September. May come early may come late. Who knows." With a small chuckle and a shrug. "I will let you two talk, Jr is making me run again." She blew Veld a kiss and turned to head back to the bathroom.
“I will see if I can make it there, but that will depend on where your ship is also.” He nodded.
“And what we’re into.”
By the time Teaya finished in the bathroom, Dean had already said his good-bye to Veld.
"Is Veld okay? You didn't talk long."
“Yes he’s alright, darling. Remember the start of the call, he kind of had ‘company’ we’ll call them.” Dean gave a little smirk.
"Oh" said with a soft blush. "I was in the bathroom when you called him. I didn't realize."
“Well actually that is true, you were. At least they weren’t in view, so there is that.”
"I'm going to take a shower, care to join me?" She gave him a wink and a sweet smile.
Dean stood up and gave a stretch a moment. “Well, how can I pass up an offer like that from my amazing wife?”
Teaya smiled as she shook her head slightly. "Indeed" said with a small laugh as she turned back to the bathroom.
