Sineade was not happy that the array had been tampered with. It was no wonder they were stuck. But hopefully that would soon be over and done with. She’d sent the rest of the team back inside the ship, mostly for their protection. That, and she didn’t need an audience while she scrubbed away the gunk on the array. She’d told a little fib, mostly so that whoever was listening wouldn’t think she knew it was intentional. Particles that fine would usually have passed through and around the array, put there was a fine layer of a sticky substance under the layers of space dust.
She had paused just to look out at the space surrounding them. Without the usually viewscreen distortions it was quite an awesome sight. She was just heading towards the airlock when one of the shuttles went out. The view from outside the ship was so different it was amazing. Sineade smiled to herself knowing that things would get back on track soon. This whole affair with SFI would be over and they could just get on with their lives.
Sineade had collected a sample of the gunk. She would be looking into just what was used and who had access to it. And then she would give this information to the Captain. If she was lucky the Captain would let her operate the airlock when they expelled this saboteur. Sineade entered the airlock and sealed the outer door. She waited until the lighting turned green before she removed her helmet and opened the inner door and officially stepped back inside the Aldrin. She pulled off the EVA suit and stored it back in its locker then took the sample to engineering. She should probably send some of it to Science to see what they can find out.
With that in mind, Sineade stood at one of the small craft stations. She pulled out some of the sample from the container and placed it in another then sealed both. One she tucked into her uniform pocket for safekeeping, the other she carried in full view out of Engineering and up to the science labs to hand over for analysis.
