A chat between friends

Teaya fixed a tray of fruit, cheese and breads with a pitcher of tea for her and Mardel. Setting on the cart, she pushed it to the suite with the relaxing pool..
"This should do us just fine. I know I can use a warm soak. A little girl time would be just what this doctor ordered."

Entering the counseling center, she looked around. Soft music guided her to a room with a relaxing pool where Teaya was just finishing setting out a tray of snacks. "I see you are prepared for some destressing time. Having a difficult time of it on the bridge with Dean without me there to help keep him in line?" There was humor in her voice.

Teaya chuckled. "It's not so much my husband as much as it is several crew members thinking my commands are not worthy of obeying." Sighing softly as she sat on the side of the wading pool and slide into the warm water.
"My husband didn't help on a couple of occasions especially this last one. Even he fell into the mind games. Being married to the ships XO is not always easy."

Mardel nodded. "Yes, it is never easy being married to someone in command. I'm sure that Daniel feels the same way at times." She joined Teaya in the warming pool and gave a sigh of relief. "Oh, I am still getting over the back pain of that pregnancy. This is heavenly." Then she looked at Teaya. "Sometimes, the better part of valor is to let the crew make mistakes and learn from them. Granted, it makes things a bit confusing and difficult to keep things running smoothly, but there are times when a little confusion on a small scale easily cleared up so everyone feels better to prevent an even worse confusion later on when it's more detrimental. Reassurance on a small level is needed by even the most disciplined officers. Wouldn't you agree, Teaya?"

Laying her head back on a rolled up towel after she took a drink of her tea. "Mmm this is true, however if he feeds into the chaos and doesn't listen to voice of reason, which is suppose to be me when either you or he are second guessing yourselves." Raising her hand in the air and watching the water drip back into the pool.
"Flower is a bit concerning." Said out of no where... "How are the babies? This run has not allowed for me to really come see you and them." Sitting up she grabbed her tea and took a drink.

"The twins are growing like weeds, but then they do at this age. But they are only a month old and not sleeping through the night yet. However, they are no longer awake all night and sleeping all day, but have gotten on a normal schedule. At least only Daniel has to go full duty, and I still am able to take naps with them and the holonannies are a godsend." She sighed and rolled her head around on her neck. "Why is Flower concerning to you now?"

"I'm glad they are doing well. I do hope you're coming back soon... Would make my life easier" said with a bit of humor.
"As for Flower, I think she is a bit high strung. If her boyfriend is with Sylver, once this is over I think a couple of nights with him might do her some good. If she don't calm her nerves or whatever has her so high strung, I may run her to the brig myself under medical supervision. She openly screamed at myself and Lt. Drysdale. If he hadn't better things to do at the moment he would have probably ran her in." She gave a soft sigh. "This has definitely pushed the crew. I'm not sure they can take much more." With a slight shrug, "then again they may surprise even me, but what I have seen this far, I won't hold my breath."

"I don't know Admiral Sylver well myself. I've worked with her before, she's almost Vulcan with her lack of emotions, and yet she knows how to manipulate them like a pro. She may have seen who the susceptible of our crew would be and is targeting them. She is honorable though, so I don't think she would actually use Flower's boyfriend against her, however she would copy his voice and use that, if she thought it would work. Perhaps, some anti-anxieties for Flower until this over, help her keep calm and rational." Mardel said softly. She knew that Teaya was one of the few who knew that Mardel had been one of the premiere doctors and psychiatrists in the Federation before being convinced to join command. "Perhaps, even placebos she could use on duty that she would believe were the actual meds. Sometimes, it takes a "magic feather" for someone to fly."

Teaya laid her head back again. "Maybe." Feeling the water and absorbing the music while allowing the weightlessness of her body to float in the water. She became very aware of her body. A small gasp escaped her lips. Sliding her hand over her belly. A giggle bubbled from inside her and excitement filled her chest. "Oh! Mardel!" She sat up. "I felt him! I felt my little boy!"

She smiled at her friend. "Congratulations, Teaya." She reached out and gently touched her friend's belly. "Still too small for any but you to feel. But I know how wonderful that feels, knowing that life is growing inside of you. You will have to make Dean jealous that he can't feel it yet. It will drive him crazy." She giggled a little at Teaya. "I like Dean, I really do, but he can be so.......egotistical at times. That's okay, he's only a male."

She couldn't help but laugh. "He is, but when we are alone he is different. It took time to get through him but he does have a tender, loving side, not that he would let many see that side. It's obvious there's a lot of good in him. I'm certainly not a mental masochist. Haha"

"Oh, I know he had a streak of goodness the size of the Grand Canyon and more than enough tenderness to put many a woman to shame, he just doesn't like to admit it or show it. Always has to be macho and masculine, however, it has it's uses at times, so I don't bother with it." Mardel looked over the snack tray and took a piece of fruit and slowly ate it. "Are you getting all your cravings met, Teaya? Or is he pulling his, 'you can't have that because I don't like it' attitude?"

"I'm good with cravings and foods. I eat what I want when I need to.sliding up and out of the pool. You stay as long as you like, but I must head back to duty." Kissing the top of her friends head. "Thanks love, I needed this." She dried off and then put her coverup back on.

"Any time, Teaya. You know what they say, no one needs counseling like the counselor. I'm always here for you, my dear." She stayed a little longer, enjoying some of the fruit, then with a sigh, she got out as well, dried off and slipped back into her clothing to return home and her children.
