A Matter of Honor

Killian entered the command center and looked around. "What is that?" She asked in a voice that had made strong men tremble and weep and beg for forgiveness.
The man turned and looked and got an evil smile on his face. "That is Lieutenant Sheme's Rait Doll, the life-sized one given her by her boyfriend." Then he got a look a Killian's face and blanched. "You did say to shake them up."
"You will return it, now." She said in a cold voice that brooked no opposition. She saw the two men exchange a glance and lifted an eyebrow. "What?"
The second man swallowed and looked at Killian, starting to sweat visibly. "Well, Sir, we made copies of it, ten of them. We put dry ice in them and something that would simulate wordless sounds to spook people. We were going to start placing them around the ship."
"The original?" She asked in a tight voice.
"Oh, we didn't touch that." Both men hastily reassured her.
Killian thought about it a moment. "So you have all ten?" Both men nodded vigorously. She moved to her favorite seat and without looking, reached behind her and into the replicator that gave her a chilled glass of pineapple juice. She took a sip and set it down on the table, her eyes never leaving the pale faces of the two men. "For all that we are testing them, we still have to behave with honor. You will place all ten copies around the ship in various places, allow them to do their work. But the original, you will return in a stasis cube, so it cannot be harmed, keyed to Lieutenant Sheme, and in her private space on the Aldrin, so it will be safe. And no more of this stealing like this, it isn't honorable and I will not be part of something that doesn't have honor. Even when I was killing for Starfleet, it was done with honor."
Both men nodded and turned to follow her orders. She rubbed her eyes a moment and sighed. No wonder people thought that Intelligence was dishonorable, idiots like those two who thought that just because they could, they should. She would have her work cut out for her to bring this test back into the realm of honor. Damn that Romulan and needing to speak to her alone for his defection. She should have finished this first, but he was considered more important to the stuffed shirts who never did a day in the field and knew nothing about priorities. She would have words with them as well, as soon as this was over.
She picked up her pineapple juice and drained it in a single swallow, and then without looking, put it in the recycler and stood. "I will be working on the next distractions for the Aldrin's crew. Stop trying to be creative, you aren't very good at it." Her voice was cold and drove home the point that these two, while some thought they were good at their jobs were still rookies in her book. They nodded, not many people had ever gained Admiral Sylver's respect and it seemed if either of them wanted it, they had a long way to go.
Standing and looking out at the Aldin, sitting there, dead in the water, she lifted an invisible glass in salute to them. "I'm back, things will again be done with honor."
